Why would there be a lockout? A 100m cap means HRR is doing well. Owners are making money. Why would they lock out and lose money?
Exactly the reason Friedman just stated, the split of the haves and the have-nots.

Despite the incredible wealth of the Colorado ownership, they also own the Rams and Arsenal FC; they just don't want to spend that much (relatively) on hockey.

While that's true, to me this is a classic case of over GM-ing. This is about philosophy that nobody is going to get paid more than McKinnon
Leafs had that early 2000s, nobody was goign ot get paid more than Sundin

Even at 12.5 Rantanen had to be resigned. He has been your 2nd best player. Even if that means getting paid more than Mack

This is year 5 having my current TV, might upgrade this year potentially. I usually keep them for 5-6 years and then sell towards the next one

Outside of a goalie having a horse shoe up his ass , getting out shot every game, giving up boatloads of scoring chances, cherry picking, sloppy puck management, what exactly is Berube's system?

It would be like Edmonton not resigning Drai. Maybe Colorado had not choice because they felt they were never going to reach reasonable terms with MR, but I have no doubt their first choice was to resign him.

Winning, which is what the Leafs do most games.

When Marner is not going, this team is absolute garbage.

Pretty sure he has turned the puck over every time he has tried to make a play tonight. Ugh.
