I'm all for locking up your best players but 10.5 on a goalie is dumb no matter which way you look at it. 10.5 for a career. 920% goalie or 5M for .915%. Easy call Imo.

It's just rather comedic, given the shot that Matthews took and all that led up to it, that somehow Carey Price is the guy to burn at the stake. If you really want to see Price as a bad goalie/not worth the cash, that is what you'll see. It's the easiest trap to fall into when you start to doubt a goaltender. Pretty soon you can find a reason to blame him on every goal, because after all, he was the last guy back on every puck that ended up in the net. It's extremely simple minded and ignorant thinking, but a portion of every fanbase (with a highly paid goalie) insists on doing it. A third of the Bruins board does the exact same thing. It's depressing to see such a willfully ignorant sentiment commonplace amongst people who call themselves fans.
