Not really.
This management thought Dach was worth the 13th overall pick.
I still think he is a promising prospect.
GrossReinB exposing himself way too much out there.
He was easily worth it before the injury. Played very well for us his fist year to the point some posters here were projecting him to be as good as Suzuki.
Mailloux is not a smart player, he looks like someone who's going to be on Sportsnet highlights.
Many GM's did. But they were of course scared off by the off ice issues. It's kind of scary to think previous management had Mailloux as a top 15 pick.
Everyone did. But they were of course scared off by the off ice issues.
We don't know if they had him top 15 or they would have taken him there. They took him 31st.Top 15?
According to this article only one of the 10 scouts that TSN surveyed had him top 15, which by the sounds of things may have been our scout.

Power pulls away from crowded draft field - TSN.ca
This year’s NHL draft class is showing signs of major unpredictability, but the Michigan defenceman cemented his status as hockey’s top prospect with a strong performance at the IIHF World Championship, Bob McKenzie writes.www.tsn.ca
Mailloux’s name appears on the TSN final draft rankings list simply because even for the teams that have decided not to select him under any circumstances, the player was still ranked by those teams. Absent the legal issues, which of course is not the case, this is the range where he may have expected to have been chosen.
This is, of course, not a normal situation, but the process whereby teams rank and list a player they have no interest in actually drafting is not at all unusual. That is why Mailloux’s name still appears on the list. Of the 10 scouts surveyed by TSN, four had Mailloux in their first round, including one in the top 15. Five other scouts had him rated in the second round and one in the third round.
No, according to Bob, just Montreal had him there, nobody else did. Many GM's did. But they were of course scared off by the off ice issues.

Bob only knows 10 out of 32 teams and where they would have ranked him if he hadn't asked not to be drafted who knows. We know that several teams would have taken him with their 2nd pick. Now that may have been teams in the last half of the 2nd round. No, according to Bob, just Montreal had him there, nobody else did.

Didn't say it wasn't. Just saying you can't say it's scary that Maillloux being ranked higher is bad, when the current management has made similar bad judgement.Just because he got injured and it slowed him down doesn’t mean the player wasn’t worth that.
Dach is not a smart player. He gets lost defensively, can't win a faceoff and his line is consistently the worst line.He was easily worth it before the injury. Played very well for us his fist year to the point some posters here were projecting him to be as good as Suzuki.

The scouting staff that thought Mailloux was a top 15 pick are the same staff that gets praise around here for the good picks they make.
That group is still here.
Mailloux is a fine prospect.
Yeah and 90% of this board was saying he'll be better than Suzuki after his 1st season with the team before the injuries started to hit. There's no comparison to be made btw the two.Not really.
