I kind of like the way Keefe is getting everyone in for a game. Thete hasn’t been any drop in play. Barabanov and Lehtonen are new to the league but played solid games. They haven’t been dynamic but nobody expects them to.
It’s been as fair as possible to the taxi squad and they have all played well when called upon. The changes don’t fizz me because its always been solid whoever is in.

I don't have much to say except that I've been thoroughly enjoying watching my Leafs this year. They look like a much more balanced team this year. And the late start? I've been retired for just over a year now and I forgot how to set my alarm clock. Let's pull off another win tonight boys!

Sure helps in case of injuries we have all our taxi squad in full game shape. No one will ever be coming in cold and we will absorb any injuries and feel like we arnt missing a beat (just a slight drop in player quality I guess)

3AM start over here! Luckily I'm off work tomorrow and can wake up past noon.
I like his game. I think he's good at getting possession and making solid simple plays to get the puck to his line mates. He's not a huge offensive threat. He's not going to make Nylander or Marner style passes... but he's able to get control of the puck, settle things down, and make a smart pass.

Vesey's numbers this year (among forwards with at least 20 5v5 minutes played) :

Assists/60: .66 (Tied for 6th best among Leafs forwards)
Points/60: 1.98 (4th best among Leafs forwards)
CF%: 58.06 (4th best among Leafs forwards)

I think with Vesey we get a real battle of the numbers vs. the eye test.

We need to make life a lot tougher on Koskinen this time than the first 2 times we played the Oilers

Mikheyev is very different from Kapanen except for them both being good skaters. Mikheyev is a great defensive player/playmaker but a bad finisher, and Kapanen is the opposite

He has one assist this year......not good. Beginning to look like kapanen to me except less offence to he honest

the Leafs only have 13 goals at 5v5. 1 assist isn't great, but the whole team is struggling to finish except on the PP so it's hardly something you can blame him for. He's good at creating chances, but he can't force his teammates to score on them

Every time I think I buy into hockey analytics, I see stats like this and can't believe it. I don't hate on Vesey but he hasn't look good at all watching the games. I'm not exactly rooting against him given he's on our team.
