Honestly i can’t understand what Hayes was doing on that Grabner goal. You’re not even in the play dude, why are you not aware of where you are? That’s unacceptable to be offsides in that situation.

AV’s player usage in the third is another issue but I don’t wanna smash my phone in anger so I don’t wanna get into it. Buch played 10 minutes. Zibanejad was benched.

When does someone step in and talk to him about his player usage? It’s unbelievabke.

As for TOI decisions ----Mind boggling.......Again!

Oh stop blaming Hayes. Grabner made a move at the blue line and put a player offside, this happens all the time.

Try watching it in real time and not that frame by frame which obviously makes it looks worse than it is.

I must have missed it but why did Zibanejad only play 12 min? Had been looking forward to this game all week.

It really feels like they will not win it all again in any of our lifetimes. I see threads on the main board all the time posted by people who are new to hockey asking which team to follow. I would never tell anyone to bother with the Rangers.

Well 2 things [not at you. Just general leapfrog ]

1. That’s why I was so angry with Rick Nash the player in 2014. I say the player because maybe he’s a nice guy whatever. But the end result was he was supposed to be the final piece and he wasn’t when the team was at the apex. For the most part the then younger posters ripped me and others on Rick Nash and had some of the best revisions to history I ever heard. None the less I feared it so much because it was something they might not appreciate well into their middle age when the Rangers still haven’t won a cup.

2. I also keep trying to harp that management should treat this year and the next few years as a transition. If the fans get to picky and management panicky, the team will on average mediocre for 20-30 years.

Note: on average from the end of the 1960s-1990, the rangers ON AVERAGE were slightly north of the mean.

Just for once. For once Lord Dolan. You have so much money. Just let the Rangers build!

I agree this is a transition season. If that's the case, DeAngelo, Graves, Lettieri need to be called up and given a chance to play. No need to continue to play retreads like Holden, Carey, Desharnais, and Nash and Grabner should be shipped out ASAP. But this isn't a transition season. U don't sign Shattenkirk, Smith, to throw a season away.

They have him locked through his prime. Why wouldn't you get him on the cheap for later too?

It took multiple trades and signings not to mention drafting prior to even the many trades in the 1993-1994 season for that cup.

And aside from maybe Graves, regardless of Holden, I don't think any of the other names you mentioned are in the long term picture regardless of the roster. Rebuilding isn't just "gettin' younger".

How does not a single fan know why Z was benched?
In AV’s postgame he said Zib made some bad turnovers.

Which is ridiculous to bench one of your best offensive players when you’re trailing but that’s AV.

As if nobody else made any other bad turnovers. Fricken Holden left a player wide open in front of the net for the second straight game leading to a goal against, this time leaving fricken Auston Matthews wide open in front. What a joke. He still gets trotted out there for first pair minutes though.

Hayes was just standing there and he was completely off sides. It wasn’t a huge move at the blue line by Grabner, Hayes just seemed unaware of his positioning.

Thank you. Our TOs were much worse. You guys deserved to win. Bozak needs to vanish. Lundqvist made some nice saves but he's not exactly a calming influence is he? I wouldn't want that in my goalie as a coach, GM, or teammate.

He's the best goalie, and probably will be a top 3 Ranger all time, Cup or no Cup.

I see nothing wrong with his temperament. It's not his fault that his teammates don't care or prepare for games as much as he does. He expects more from his teammates because he wants to win. He's actually exactly who I want as a coach or GM when he does retire from playing the game. He has outright ugly stretches of play, but the last 8 weeks have silenced a lot of doubters, for now.

I'd be pretty livid too if I had the puck in my glove and Komarov crashes the crease like a moron and bats it out.

And then Hank has to face more tough chances immediately after as a result. He was justifiably mad at the ref over that.

Just sayin if I had the choice I'd want my goalie to be stone cold and unreadable, not able to be knocked off his game. That being said, I'd suggest stop being so animated and chirping, and instead to send a message by doing what Halak did vs Anaheim the other night, F-in run the guy and pound him urself. That'll get your team going and the refs attention, seriously. Anyway he's obviously a great goalie, just a Z fan here.

Yeah, I often think to myself I wish Henrik was more like Jaro Halak.

The modern era Buds are true analysts of goaltending. They did have Felix Potvin.

In all fairness, they wasted a Swedish man' s HOF career way better than we have. Still a chance for the King.

So, the coach put Buchnevich on the 4th line and possibly benched Zibanejad. :help:

This loss is 100% on AV. And it happened before the puck even dropped. Blowing up the lines just because you lose a third line wing is absurd. One of your best players you move him to 4th line wing? Great decision.

Then he gets a 5 on 3 first group buzzing pulls them off after a minute. They aren’t tired. Let them finish it. Instead puts 5 lefties on the ice not one shooter.

Team is in total disarray all night because the lines are in a blender. They looked lost because their coach was in disarray.

Michael Grabner your top goal scorer. 8 mins total going into the third period. Brilliant.

And then the cherry on top. Mika Zibanejad your best forward all year stapled to the bench the entire third period when trying to tie the game?

This coach should come out and say guys I blew the game it’s on me because that’s what happened. Total idiot. And I got the sense Lundqvist was thinking the same thing. He was livid.

It might be coincidence, but they played much better with Mika stapled to the bench.
