DIsagree. It was 1-0 until the final minute and if not for Jones, Leafs would have won. The Leafs tested him, and Bernier faced little quality shots or constant pressure. The Leafs were the better team thru the final 2, had more zone time and put pressure on and Jones got them a well earned W.
I see your point. Maybe I should say that old Leafs would have turned the game into a wild pickup game after the first, and came with the kitchen sink! The new coach is emphasizing team defense, so I think their players were a little tight about making a defensive mistake! Before, it didn't seem to matter to this team. They would have put up 40 shots!! The game would have been wide open, and the Kings would have had 40 also.

Yes he is and I think that is how most good teams, remain good and give themselves a chance to win every night. You should win more games if you keep the SOG's under 20. But , typical of some of the Toronto media, some of them are being critical because the Leafs are not scoring enough now
Some fine analysts they are . Adjusting to a new system takes time, the goals will come, it's only been a few games geez...

It took the Caps almost half the season but the finally are playing Trotz hockey and racking up W's. And I hate to admit that Ovie looks like he got the message, it only took a turnstile of coaches but maybe Trotz is the one who gets thru to him that there is no I in TEAM.

I think when the Leafs make the right trades and bring up some prospects, they'll be okay. Their Achilles heel (like the Blues) is that the do not have a Legit #1 center. Kadri (who was great on Faceoffs last night, at one point near the end of the game the Canadian broadcasters said he won 79%. It sure looked like it, esp the ones in front of Jones) is a good young talent but I don't see him as a # 1, a good number #2.

I'm happy to see Clifford finally step up and start to play a harder style of play the last 2 games. Nolan needs to follow Cliffords example, if he dosen't he's gonna get traded.

It is absolutely insane that Gaborik is 30th in the league in goals and has only played 30 games. The guy is a beast. Not to mention that Kopitar also deserves mad props for getting back on top of our scoring charts given the slump he was in at the beginning of the year. If only Richards and Brown would pick it up just a little bit our offense would be dominant.

Nothing new Gaborik when healthy is a scoring machine. Kopitar is as streaky as they come but always ends up with around 70 pts. Don't hold your breath on Brown and Richards they no longer put up points in the regular season. We just have to hope come playoff time that switch comes on.
