Yeah the pitch was horrendous. I know there's some bad ones around Concacaf but come on, do something about the lines. And Wheeler/Dunfield are bad.

Good game for Canada, important 3 points. Next up is Tuesday night!

Tough for us to complain about the poor pitch in Jamaica when we make teams play on that turf. Just brutal. The yard lines and numbers for (american) football being visible is an absolute embarrassment.

I cringe every time I hear Wheeler say "Oh Canada, OH BABY!"

We'll take the win. Great crowd in Edmonton by looks of it too!

BMO Field is the best soccer venue in the country and it's not even close.

Am I the only guy who likes wheeler commentary. I laugh my ass off every time Canada scores and he says some dumb shit

It’s nice but it’s just too small for an event like this. That game had 50 000 people at it. Would have been a shame to be playing in front of 30 000 instead.
I've been to all the qualifying games thus far and the BMO games were much louder. The atmosphere was all-around better despite the smaller crowd.

I only saw games on tv…. That game in Edmonton was loud and exciting. Hard to believe 30k were louder than those 50k in Edmonton…… they do need to figure out the playing surface though.
If Toronto wants to host games like this, they need a world class football stadium. As of now, even Regina has something better.

BMO is just built for the occasion more than any other stadium in Canada. The roofs provide great acoustics and everyone feels closer to the game on the pitch.

From a noise perspective, it also helps that 114 and the supporter's section at BMO have far more opportunities to 'practice'. The songs, drumming, and chants were more consistent and louder than the fragmented stuff that was going on at Commonwealth.

I am not sure how the concreate monstrosity that is Commonwealth is better then BMO? BMO is objectively a better stadium. The fact it is smaller is irrelevant. It's like saying the Rogers Centre is better then Camden because more people can go to a game at Rogers.

20K extra fans, average ticket price is $100, that's $2 mil more in revenue (+ extra concessions) for them.

Also the thinking is Mexico players will be more uncomfortable in the cold than Canadian players.

This is the big key. 15 years of practice from TFC/Canada makes it very easy to make noise (not to mention the wall of sound from banging flags on the metal steps).

That being said I thought it was very loud on Friday and was surprised that social media was saying it was quiet. Was at a pregame thing last night and they said Herdman asked OneSoccer to turn the crowd mics down to surprise Mexico so who knows.

-10, Apparently -27 with the wind cbill. Insane.

I would expect players to be wary of being injured more than anything. A scoreless tie a reasonable expectation?

Who is #2 for Canada. He is wearing short sleeves where everyone on the field is wearing leggings and long sleeves, lol
