Unreal that TFC is in the running with AC Milan for a player. Times have changed.

If they can grab Belotti and Criscito as well, this is going to be must watch TV.

Belotti supposedly prefers to play in the CL and his wife wants to stay in Italy:

It may be harder to land him than we think.

when you can offer a player triple what they would make in Europe, they have to consider it. ...it's kinda like what the WHA tried to do to the NHL toss tons of $$ at players, then go bankrupt

Thanks. I knew they had the designated players but didn't know the impact.
Wish the NHL had the same

Designated spot would just be your 3 highest paid players?

You have to officially declare them a DP, but yes pretty much. You use those spots on guys you wouldn’t likely be able to fit under the cap otherwise.

Criscito or Belotti, or both. I’m greedy.

It sounds like both. Only question now is whether TFC are able to get these players before their seasons end. I know they have saved extra money to try and get each player early, but the desire to finish out the year may outweigh the money.

Just listened to the Waking the Red Podcast with Michael Singh and Brendan Dunlop. They pretty much said Belotti to TFC is not a thing. Not happening.

They mentioned that they believe Criscito is very close and the other Serie A striker TFC is looking at is Mattia Destro.

They are wrong, Belotti may not materialize because nothing is ever guaranteed until it's signed, but I assure you it's a thing.

Care to share any info to back this up? I hope you're correct, I really do.

I can't, but I can tell you TFC are very much talking to him. It's not the sure thing I thought it was earlier, but the discussions are real.

Reading between the lines then, it seems TFC would like Belotti but Belotti isn't convinced (AC Milan is more appealing likely).

Getting Salcedo makes this team so much better, add in Criscito and we are more than good on the back end.

If these rumors are true, we could have one of the best back lines in MLS next season, especially the central defenders.

At the end of last season, Oso had talked about looking at other opportunities abroad. I bet the influx of talent keeps him in town.
