What no Bracco?Toronto adds Kulemin and a Cody Franson sweetener and it’s a deal

Come on bow both these guys are barely NHL level. Kerfoot is a decent 4th liner and Holl isn't a NHL calibre dman at all.Neither holl or kerfoot are dumps and each expire this year. No contender could take Murphy without sending cap back.
Ya, not surprising. LOL.I'm fine with giving a first for Murphy but no way I include Robertson for domi.
I wondered what that whoosh sound over my head was.It was a joke, and spell check
What does that say about the 4-5 defensemen that play less than Holl on the Leafs? And the defense is carrying the team. The spare parts after the big 5 contracts just aren’t up to creating offense.Come on bow both these guys are barely NHL level. Kerfoot is a decent 4th liner and Holl isn't a NHL calibre dman at all. If any of those guys had balue they'd be gone already
Murphy is worth a 1st maybe with a small plus with no retention.Ya, not surprising. LOL.
He is American so it's a distinct possibility but as a rental destination it would be odd for the Leafs not to be a top 10 choice.
Chicago might be motivated to retain for higher value though. He'd be a nice add for your Oilers too. Could be a bidding war.
My team isn't in that position. You'll have to talk to the Oiler fan I quoted.Murphy is under contract for three more seasons after this one and thus would not be a rental.
The price of retention on three more seasons would likely be more than you’re willing to pay.

Ok. I still don't want retention on him but thanks for your concern.No, I’m talking to you. The poster who inferred multiple times that Murphy is in the final year of his contract.
really? Kerfoot would have been 2nd on the Habs in scoring last season which is pretty good for a guy who averaged 15 mins a game, got no PP time (averaged 7 seconds last season) and is on the top PK unit, and is used in a shutdown roleCome on bow both these guys are barely NHL level. Leafs would have zero interest in Domi.To Toronto-
Connor Murphy
Max Domi
To Chicago-
Justin Holl
Alex Kerfoot
Nick Robertson
1st Round Pick
Yep. One small add on from the Hawks and this gets done.To Toronto-
Connor Murphy
Max Domi
To Chicago-
Justin Holl
Alex Kerfoot
Nick Robertson
1st Round Pick
Chicago says no.I'd like a bigger shake up if we were going the Chicago route:
Marner -10.903M
Holl -2.2
Engvall -2.25
2023 1st
2024 5th and 6th
to Chicago for:
Kane =10.5M
Murphy=4.4m @50% retention =2.2M
Domi =3.0m
Regula = .866k
5 pts in 16games this season, weird right?really? Kerfoot would have been 2nd on the Habs in scoring last season which is pretty good for a guy who averaged 15 mins a game, got no PP time (averaged 7 seconds last season) and is on the top PK unit, and is used in a shutdown role
1 | 405:18 | 32.5 | JOHN TAVARES - ALEXANDER KERFOOT - WILLIAM NYLANDER | 25 | 23 | 2 | 236 | 217 | 52.1 | 420 | 396 | 51.5 |
2 | 101:40 | 8.1 | JOHN TAVARES - ALEXANDER KERFOOT - ILYA MIKHEYEV | 5 | 1 | 4 | 54 | 49 | 52.4 | 92 | 92 | 50.0 |
3 | 90:46 | 7.3 | JOHN TAVARES - ALEXANDER KERFOOT - MITCHELL MARNER | 9 | 5 | 4 | 43 | 57 | 43.0 | 94 | 95 | 49.7 |
Thats garbage for the Leafs.I'd like a bigger shake up if we were going the Chicago route:
Marner -10.903M
Holl -2.2

Thats a garbage deal for the Leafs with Kane walking next year.Chicago says no.
Find someone to take Marner and send something Chicago wants instead.
50% retention for 3 years after this one on Murphy would cost the leafs a lot.
Taking Holl requires sweetener.
The 5th and 6th are meaningless.
Where is Kane going next year if we signed him? I feel we need a shake up . Kane is what Marner wishes he was, Murph adds solid top 4 D with some grit,..Domi has more edge than Kerfoot, and Regula although young is no slouch in the D depart with tons of upside.Thats a garbage deal for the Leafs with Kane walking next year.
Kane won't be resigning with the Leafs and even if he does he's in his 30's now and maybe has a couple elite years left. This move is so short sighted and heavily favors the Hawks. Stick to NHL 23.Where is Kane going next year if we signed him? I feel we need a shake up . Kane is what Marner wishes he was, Murph adds solid top 4 D with some grit,..Domi has more edge than Kerfoot, and Regula although young is no slouch in the D depart with tons of upside.
But you go ahead and tell me if we are garbage now or a team that wouldn't be better off with those add -on? Nevermind we still have a few other players that we could also trade for to stregthen our team even more imo.
Why wouldn't Chicago want a young Marner , a 1st and a couple of back to back picks that may seem meaningless UNLESS you understand their philospy of tearing it down and accumulating picks.Chicago says no.
