also doubt the Ducks do quality for quantity, their cap is managable now so they don't have to trade anyone.

I thought Fowler played his way out of rumors already, especially such a poor return.

If you want a 24 year old, clear cut top pairing defender on a modest 4M contract, who isn't available for trade whatsoever, the price tag will be astronomical.

Anyone who's still debating his worth as a top pairing guy after the strides he's taken this season is plain clueless.

Ottawa's 2nd is the only piece of any significant value. And not nearly enough for Fowler.

that Carrick kid was over a ppg in the AHL for the marlies last year. He also has the highest possession stats among our dmen. If a leafs fan proposed a similar return for JVR they would get laughed out of the place, yet the value is similar between JVR and Fowler

We don't need and want defenseman. Andreas Johnsson is a 21 year old forward prospect with no NHL experience doesn't help us this season. That along with a 2nd and 3rd round pick isn't close to enough for us to trade Fowler prior to him being great this season with how great he has been this season he is probably here to stay.

His upside is nowhere near Fowler. This is a terrible proposal for Anaheim.

And Fowler would be your best defenseman right now.

Value, I won't even comment. Leafs like Johnsson. Carrick I'm sure could be had if we get a better RHD in return, but he's far from a throw in. Then the picks are picks. Regardless, it's not like we'd be stealing Fowler away from Anaheim enough to overlook the fact that Fowler simply doesn't fulfill our need.

Reilly does play the right side a lot so the fact that Fowler is- LD really doesn't matter

Cam Fowler would be better than any player on our D not named Morgan Reilly so if you can bring him in for the right price you do it
