Toronto got an elite top pairing d-man for $5 mil for only prime years and nothing more. This contract is an absolute bargain.

Hs is good and this is a decent deal, but if you think Brodie is an "elite top pairing D" you should probably stop watching hockey. He is a good 2nd pair on a fair deal.

Great player. Not the best "fit" for the team, in my opinion. But I'll reserve judgement for when he plays.

As of now, he's still a massive upgrade over Barrie, from last year. He's instantly our best defender on the right side.

I was thinking it would be him, Tanev, oe Vatanen. I'm not disappointed.

I have little knowledge on his strengths and weaknesses.

We'll miss him. Smooth skating top 3D. Depending on who you ask is top pairing because of his transition play, good stick and offense.

However I'd bump him down to a top 3 as he is prone to mistakes, and have directly led to goals on us.
