Good luck to Brodes. Good player with a quality personality to match (does a lot of charity work). He will be missed and I'm glad he ended up on another Canadian team.
Gotta love comments from out of market fans.
And Jim Hughson is a Leafs homer too.
Muzzin being a top pairing D is the most Leafs thing I’ve read in a thread with many Leafs things said.
So incorrect....lets just compare this to 4 more years of zaitsev at 4.5mil
Brodie has a backhand like Matts Sundin. Him being a left handed shot will not be a disadvantage at allYes. He does. But he's a left handed shot. Going to be at a disadvantage. Plus he's soft.
Im gonna post this next time someone tells me Hanifin is a bad.
Kimda like the rest of the D ?Hm....To be honest Brodie makes some stupid turnovers and the Toronto media/fans will overreact way too much.

Muzzin was the #2 in LA for yearsMuzzin being a top pairing D is the most Leafs thing I’ve read in a thread with many Leafs things said.
There's a ton of objective data that supports it. He was actually a #1 by Evolving Wild's skater GAR.
I've literally lived in Canada all my life and watched Dion, Kessel, etc in Toronto. Any Canadian who follows hockey knows what the Toronto market is like.Gotta love comments from out of market fans.

Ummmm... penguins proved back to back you can win with an average D core. In fact their # 1 D was out for the whole playoffs oke year....Washington proved the same ...try again...Yes we have 3 legitimate top 4 defensemen, but unfortunately to win in this league you need an elite defense core and ours doesn’t even come close even with the addition of Brodie.
Hughson is a Leafs homer... you're being sarcastic right?
Lol and you were talking about out of market fans...
They absolutely need brodie.. was the best D available besides AP....get realThey don't need Brodie. OMG. Another soft D.
I mean sure, in the same way that Rielly and Gardiner are similar.Muzzin and Hamonic are fairly similar. Hamonic and Brodie were HORRIBLE together.
Penguins are a team that broke a lot of fundamental rules of whats needed to win a championship. When Washington won they had a pretty solid d-core.Ummmm... penguins proved back to back you can win with an average D core. Absolutely incorrect..just sayingHes resigning in St Louis even if thr Leafs had 20 million in capspace
The point being that it’s out of market fans that say nonsense about Toronto based on zero facts, such as “Hughson is a Leafs homer” when anyone who watches would know that’s false. I was calling out criticism of Leafs fans/media as nonsense.
I hope you’re less confused now.
Neither had an elite D core and both were very average defensively. Point is you can win when they buy in with an average D core. Point provenPenguins are a team that broke a lot of fundamental rules of whats needed to win a championship. When Washington won they had a pretty solid d-core.

Trying to act like it will be any different is just a joke.
Right on. My bad... missed part of the quotes/ conversations earlier in the thread.
Touche.
Although the less confused comment wasnt called for but all good.
bruh we're not 10 mill over the cap space LOL, we're fine with what we have as soon as he's out. No one is talking about pietrangelo if that's what you're hinting at
I see your point, I think for a team to win the 3 main things you need is a selke caliber forward (top 15), a Norris caliber defense (top 10), and a legitimate starter. At least those are ver common patterns amoung cup winning teams. I think Brodie could push Rielly to that legitimate Norris caliber, he did it in Calgary.Neither had an elite D core and both were very average defensively.
