Would you take Tanev? Health issues aside. Tanev said prior to playing with Hughes Reilly was a fantastic partner for him on Team Canada during a World Championships.

Vancouver has tabled an offer to Tanev. He will make a decision tomorrow morning apparently. I am assuming Vancouver offered less term then he'd get in the open market. PIT is also hot and heavy after him. Vancouver probably offered a 2-4 year deal. He probably got a 4-5 year deal from other teams.

TJ Brodie is a Left shot but he plays the right side, he bring decent offense which some will say we don't need but Tyson Barrie and Cody Ceci are gone so we could use that, not that Ceci provided a ton of offense but Barrie provided offense.

Difference Is Brodie is much MUCH better defensively than Barrie, Barrie is ALL offense.

This is a MASSIVE upgrade to Toronto

I don't like Justin Holl but he does work with Muzzin and that is a legitimate top 4.

It's a meh signing I was worried you guys were gonna haul the big fish AP. Dubas should be canned for overpaying marner Mathews and nylander and not having cap space to add someone powerful back there that would take you guys to win at least one series.
 
Really like this signing. Can potentially get another solid blue line to balance out group.

Yes. And I will add how the Canes have a far better (more respected?) blue line than the Leafs have (along with skilled players who play physical) and yet their combined W/L record over their past two series against the Bs? 1-8.

The Leafs, with all their warts are 6-8.

Still, 0-2 in series wins like the Canes but by any measure they gave the Bruins a far more difficult time than Carolina.
