I don't hate this deal. I projected 3M, but he is a solid goalie and will form an excellent tandem with Campbell.

Also with Campbell expiring this year it gives you the option of keeping Mrazek as the 1A if Campbell prices out. Good start today.

Freddie is a good goalie, but the experience (especially the last couple playeroff) is over with the Leafs. He will get paid more in somewhere else. Good luck to him. Leafs really need a change and another tandem in the next two three years before the big 4 is gone.

lol no he is not an upgrade from Freddie. Freddie handled a very large workload for several years prior to this year and played at a high level doing so. Mrazek is a backup. Campbell is a backup. Dubas showing again that he has no idea how to evaluate goalies. Freddie>Mrazek and it’s not close.

He's a decent tandem guy, but he's not a great goalie. Which is fine, we don't have much capspace, and he was one of the better options available. But I do think expectations should be tempered.

Totally agree with you 100%. I'm not overly thrilled about him, but it's probably better than throwing Campbell to the wolves. He's not ready for a 60 game season. 1A and 1B is what it looks like it'll be.

Same top 4 forwards, goaltending wasn't the issue in the playoffs. Ugh.

I dislike 3.8 but i trust on Bobby and if he says itll be one of the '"cheaper' goalie deals today I'm happy with it.

I still think Campbell cements himself as number 1 so a little worried about his contract next season.

Leafs didn't even offer Freddy a contract accord to Lebrun. Bobby Mac said Mrazek was going to be one of the more affordable goalies on the market, so I am guessing other goalies are asking for stupid money.
