Atlantic Division goaltending:

Better than us:
Tampa
Montreal
Boston

Same as us:
Detroit

Undecided
Florida (Knight is a beast)

Worse than us:
Ottawa
Buffalo

I fail to see how Price is better than either Mrazek or Campbell at this point, but.....? Like Campbell outdueled him and Tampa embarrassed him. Not to mention he's been straight up awful in the last 3 regular seasons.

Also Ned being the same? Come on. Since his draft year (2014 - 7 seasons ago) the guy has had two seasons above a .907 sv% in the league he played the most in. 2018-19 he had a .916 in 51 games in the AHL, and in 20-21 he had a .932 in 23 games in the NHL. Much more likely he's a flash in the pan than as good as either Mrazek or Campbell.

There's also a big difference between regular season price - where health has been a big factor and he shad two back to back questionable efforts - and playoff price.

The list also ignores $$$ spent on goaltending.

They are spending less than they spent the last two years and presumably will have better goaltending than they've gotten since Fred was a disaster in ththe last two seasons. I think Fred could rebound, and he was amazing for the Leafs, but the last two years were not pretty.

Wow the Coyotes are cleaning up. Awful joke of a team, but they are killing their rebuild trades. Poor Timmins fighting back from a potential career ending issue and then gets stuck on the Yotes.

Arizona needs to reset themselves so far back to the Stone Age that Auston Matthews will never consider going home, thus remaining a Leaf for the long term in 2024.

The biggest question mark with Mrazek is health, but Kyle Woodley did have some great things to say about him and his style of goaltending is apparently quite compatible with the style of defense the Leafs employ. Perhaps a higher floor than Andersen without the workhorse durability and upside Andersen provided in a normal season.

Boston is better?
They've always been, they added a lot of depth this year. If they get krejci back they have their big 5 offensive guys + Colin Wilson, the additions from this year (Haula, Nosek, Foligno in the bottom 6

They need to probably trade Debrusk to get Krejci back but otherwise they have a very good forward core with a solid defense

There are 30 other teams he can sign with.
It’s not exactly like we have had much success here with him. What does he really have to lose by going somewhere else.

We are talking about goalies.

Mrazek's career.
Regular season: 9 seasons, 275 games, 2.59 GAA, .911 SV%, 2 seasons over 3 GAA, 1 season under .900 SV%
Playoffs: 6 seasons, 29 games, 2.43 GAA, .911 SV%, 2 seasons over 3 GAA, 3 seasons under .900 SV%
*Has played 40 games or more 4 times in 9 seasons

A decent resume to base an opinion...Mrazek is a goaltender who should be able to split time with Campbell and form a respectable duo for the team. Combined salaries = 5.45M. One can argue that we do not have one of the best goalies in the league. I don't think one can argue that we have bad goalies. Indeed, if they remain healthy and play to their abilities at 6.7% of total cap hit, the Leafs have a solid tandem between the pipes for the upcoming season.

Sorry but don't see how this helps much. Love Campbell but no way he beats TB or Boston come playoff time.

Tampa Bay, Boston, but you can also add Florida and apparently now Montreal...

The Leafs might be in tough not just for their next first round matchup, but also the playoffs themselves...
