What does top 50 prospect mean here? According to who?

I have seen some top 50 prospects lists for NHL where the Leafs have 0 prospects in top 50...

I follow the prospects in the league pretty closely so I am really interested in seeing this list. Robertson is a consensus top 30 prospect (one outlier has him ranked in the 30's) Neimla top 50 on every list I have seen and Knies is around the 50- 60 mark with several respected sources saying he has top 10 up side. Eveyone thinks a prospect has to a Byfield to be any good and that is not the case. Detriot in the 1990's and early 2000's made a living on guys just like these three.

By "some", that would mean multiple lists....shouldn't be to hard for you to post a link to one of those....

7 pages of this. Really? This is old news and not a new signing.

Let me recap the take home message:
“Oooh look at this great UFA my team signed. What a great pick and savvy move.”

Save that for your home team’s message board. We’ve got some similar threads on the Isles’ board and I’m sure the rest of the league’s fans have no interest in listening to that chatter.

I mean...if you weren't interested you could have just moved along to the next thread? Crazy concept I know.

Here you go, Leaf fans. Have at it. I was wrong about Bunting's impact this year.

See? Being right 9 times out of 10, I'm okay admitting when I'm wrong that 1 time out of 10. ;)

Coyote fans are glad Bunting is doing well....we won't feel quite as guilty when UFA Matthews signs with the Coyotes for less money than the Maple Leafs can offer in order to sign with his hometown team.

I live in reality. If I thought you were a contender, I would (ruefully) admit it. Thankfully, with your terrible goaltending, porous defence, and top-heavy forward group with little depth, I don't have to do that. BTW, Bunting has proven to be an excellent player, at least in his current circumstances.

I think doing what they are doing despite the garbage goaltending they have gotten for the past 2-3 months proves they are a contender.

If they can do this well with dog shit goaltending imagine what they could do with a save

It’s a hard job to always be right. You have to leave some victories for the small folk.

Add 7 to that and now your talking...playing with the best goal scorer in the world and a top 10 winger certainly makes life a little easier for JR, who has been great himself

Yeah. He wants to leave the Biggest hockey market in the world to play in front of 3500, while wondering if/when they will get moved, wondering if his paychecks will cash and never being on a competitive team.

Speaking from experience, your best chance at a homecoming is overpaying him on his last contract.

It took us a thousand tries before we got a star wanting to come home in his prime. Not to be mean but first try in a market with little going for it is beyond optimistic.

Man, with an assessment like that, I'd have to guess we're on the outside of the playoff bubble looking in!

Seriously though, I am fully prepared for another 1st round loss this year....those are the breaks with the division alignment. Thanks for the guffaws.
