Confirmed with Link: [TOR/CBJ] TOR acquire Riley Nash for Conditional. 7th Pick in 2022

should be Jumbo, but will they have the balls to move him out of the lineup?
I'm not dumping Joe down ,,he is doing nothing to hurt us on the 4th line and the odds of any 4th liner making a "difference" is crazy rare

i believe (don't know as fact) Jumbo is just too valuable on the bench and dressed ready to go in the room during games.

He said "no concern" which is an as open ended answer as they come.

Much better strategy than a second for the Habs dude who wore turtlenecks and then retired after doing next to nothing for the Leafs. Plekanec?
oh come on,,,, thats not fair,,,,,i thought turtle neck played great when he had to fill in higher in the line up

Face offs are only a small part of a centre’s responsibilities, plus you could have Spezza take draws and they switch spots once play resumes.
Definitely a option. Kerfoot skates so well and gets on pucks like a hound. Starting with the puck is really important in the defensive zone. Neutral zone faceoffs are not so bad to lose but the other 2 zones are really important. Another reason why Matthews is so good in so many different ways.

Keefe passed the buck on being asked if Andersen is on long term injured reserve retroactive. He said, “yeah i think something of a move went on but I’m not sure on that stuff”, Kyle will make a announcement on that after the trade deadline passes I’m sure”.

Sketchy, they won’t even speak to LTIR movement.

There is cap information in this link
Maple Leafs' Keefe: No timeline for Andersen's injury
why would a poker player ever show their hand?

if the league knows Fred is proper hurt ,the G trade prices go up

Can someone tell me how much cap space we have?

Some people saying 5-6 mill, some saying 1.5ish mill.

How much space?

Thanks.

A person saying we have $5m in space would be referring to Andersen’s LTIR relief. But Leafs need to plan to activate Andersen off LTIR before the playoffs start, thus we can’t exactly acquire roster players to make use of that space.

Not including Andersen’s LTIR relief, we have $1.5m in deadline cap space that we can use to upgrade our roster.

They could look at Andersen’s play and Jacks play format and figure out we are running 2 fragile goalies going in to the playoffs and likely want to have some Goalie insurance backing a cup contending team. President’s trophy potential team too. Team’s see our need already i would think.

I'd argue Dubas is in a very very different place

IF we are talking about a "fragile" Fred or a properly hurt Fred (aka, out till at least the POs)

He will get some Goalie depth for the playoffs i would hope. We could end up with someone backing up Hutchinson really quickly. Nobody would be very happy. Dubas definitely knows for sure what’s going on with Andersen yes. I wish we did. I knew by the way he was playing after they continued playing him injured that this was going to be a long one. We’ll see by Monday i guess

IF it's me,,i go this route regardless

i come out of the TD with 1 more tender,,3 depth D and 1 forward,,take us to the max 50 contracts and keep Fred ltir till the reg season ends

IF THERE is a cap Xpert that can answer this,,,,,,,,if a player is sent down for a conditioning stint in the AHL , are they on the cap?

I Dubas is inquiring about goaltenders available the natural assumption on the part of the other GM is that Anderen is no longer relied upon or can't be relied upon, whether because of injury or some other reason doesn't really matter, I would think. It's not like poker at all, it's more checkers then anything

What a feeling it is to have a few of the most brilliant minds in the league working for the Leafs. A huge difference from what we had over the last 10-15 years.

There is logic and reason to every move they make.

I guarantee there are GMs in the league that still can't wrap their head around the benefits of this move.

i disagree ,,it would be a prudent move to add G depth even if Fred is GTG

Dubas should not tip his hand on "does he want a G or NEED a G"

Benning and Bergevin's minds are blown.

If you can't beat 'em, have 'em join you! He was on the opposing side in our series against both Boston and obviously, Columbus. Looking forward to seeing what Riley Nash might have to offer the Toronto Maple Leafs.

nvere said it's a good move or a bad one, just saying NHL GM's don't live in a vacuum and whether Fredlight is or isn't on LTIR doesn't matter, if Dubas is inquiring about a goaltender the natural assumption would be that the Leafs no longer have much faith in Freddie

I wonder what back up goalie Nylander could bring in?

That top 6 forward stuff from Dubas might be smoke and mirrors and he really just wants to add depth. Possibly. Who knows. Depth is good

Now that we dipped our toe in the LTIR until playoffs market we might as well go full Tampa

I say let's get Eichel!
