I would rather get Holtby, whose a much more affordable goalie who has actually won a cup.

Not sure all or any caps fans agree with me but vancek is a mediocre goalie at best. Samsonov can't be trusted. Caps goalie situation is a gong show. Defense doesn't help them enough but if they are going to take a shot at some kind of run they need a goalie

Very much as a Caps fan I agree with you. Scott Murray sucks as a goalie coach, as Sammy/VV just going up and down at a backup goalie level. Caps are not a bottom 5 team. They are a playoff team, so they should most definitely have better goaltending. A vet goalie would be huge because they wouldn't require as much goalie coaching as young goalies would and especially from a questionable goalie coach.

As an Oiler fan I'd limit our list to Fleury, Forsberg, Varlamov.

I'd be happy with Korpisalo, Bernier, or others in that tier or worse just to try someone else though
