To play Devil's advocate, Bure would score more goals in the high flying1980's and/or today's era without a two-line pass.

He also never played with a top centerman.

I don't think he's a top-5 all time goal scorer, but he shouldn't be diminished.

I think Bure would’ve benefited more from a high end offensive dman to get the puck to him in full flight

The fact Bure is even on the list with so few games compared to the other 4 is astonishing. If Bure played more games, he would only have more goals. What makes you think he wouldn't be able to keep up his goal scoring pace if his career wasn't ruined by injuries?

Era-adjusted is not a real thing though.
Who’s more “rich”: someone with $800,000 in the bank in 1980 or someone with $1,000,000 in 2023? The answer to this is completely objective - it’s the person in 1980, because everything is relative.

What that means is that persons money in relation to the economic environment, and its buying power.

Same thing applies to hockey. If all of a sudden next season, they cut goalie pad size in half, and we have 10 players score 100 goals, did all 10 of those players peak higher than Gretzky in goal scoring?

It’s simple and honestly so foolish and ignorant to act like adjusted stats aren’t a thing. Yes - they’re not perfect at all, but they’re definitely significantly better than raw stats are.

Super impressive that Bure is on there despite him playing the fewest games of the bunch. Bure only played 702 games. If Bure stayed healthy, I think he's easily #1.

Prime Bure vs Prime Ovy today for goal scoring? Bure gives Ovy a run for his money.

It’s kind of sad that Bure (or any player that had their career cut short because of health reasons) that they couldn’t extend or enjoy longer, but I will never forget how he pretty much with his individual skill demolished team Finland that was really good. The guy was a beast.
