Wow just saw the replay of Laine’s entry and why he didn’t get the shot off. Watson hooked him the entire time going in to the zone and right as he was about the shoot.

I’m not going to say reffing had us lose this game, but consistency in calls is always an issue. I get there’s 30 seconds left, but wow! Penalty, we get a draw in their zone...

But do we expect more in the NHL reffing?

Thought the Preds looked vulnerable for the first five mins of period 1. What if...Laine didn't take that offsetting penalty or JoMo put a bit more on that backhander...

Most of the game Jets looked flat and Preds didn't make any mistakes. Better team won. Next game will be better.

I think Maurice should really keep the lines that he put after the blender. It was starting to look already like some offence again. I never understood why Scheifele and Wheeler should always play together when they are the two best line drivers for the Jets. Scheifele is also a master in finding Laine and Ehlers, so it should be the best way to use the talents of all those three optimally. Laine can also find Scheifele pretty nicly.

At least start the next game with ESL and CSW and see at least a period or two how well it works. I can’t say I have seen the previous lines as very optimal although the Jets have done pretty well with those lines too. Now the opposition is just that tough, that the real optimal lines would be needed.

I don't remember anymore exactly why those (wrong) lines have kept so long, didn't the agenda was as long as they are winning there is no need to change anything. look they just were shutdown totally because team wasn't playing optimally. it's exactly what people said, competition gets tougher and those lines suddenly wont produce anymore, now he realises that 90 games later!?

You could very well be right about the pressure being back on the Jets but that's the nature of the playoffs. Momentum swings happen and I believe the Jets can get another win in Nashville.

GJF is the one who made this awesome avatar, but I'm glad you like it.

I hope you are right man. I’m extremely worried but I’m not gonna quit on this team.

That knob goal save really helped preds, which was insanly lucky. They got to a early lead then played the trap like little scared bitches, tho they played that well. Lots of near misses that would have changed the game. Really want Hendricks out and glad at the very least that the shut out was spoiled. We will be better Saturday.

Remove that lucky falling goalie stick or that saucer pass lands right on the short handed chance and this is a wildly different game. Hell, if Josi doesn't fold like a deck chair in a hurricane...

Sky isnt falling. Back and forth series between the top two teams in the league. And now Laine has that monkey off his back. Still like the Jets chances.

Gramps need to play better in games 5,6 and 7.

PoMo will pump his tires and get him going again.

Solidly outcoached.

I mean we got spanked on coaching.

It was 1-4. That's it. And we decided that in all our wisdom we would have all our guys cheat up and sit on the blue line while they could force dump ins with flat footed forecheckers.

I'm absolutely furious. There is zero reason a NHL team should ever look like this against the trap. We could have uses our power play entry where we drop it back because it's the same style. We didnt.

We could have had everyone skate up together so we have forechecķers with speed we didn't.

I'm absolutely horrified. While everyone was celebrating Maurice like he was amazing, I said at the beginning of the playoffs if we had to rely on coaching we are screwed. Coaching is now costing us games. Hendricks was playing wing today no excuse for not drawing in anyone else.

It looked like it was the first time Pomo has seen the trap. And that should scare the **** out of all of us.

The sad part is he probably won't make any adjustments next game other than fiddle around with the lines hoping for a winning combo.

It's funny how this game works. Hendricks takes a penalty that doesn't lead to a goal but we go on to eventually loose the game so Hendricks is useless.

Roslovic, although a better player than Hendricks has done squat generally and took a penalty that led to a tie game but we went on to win.

But of course Hendricks being in instead of Roslo is somehow just too much for some to handle.

8 minute a night players (which is what both of them are at this point) shouldn't be the difference between winning or loosing

Best part is idiots on sportsnet praising that play.

Basically no puck luck tonight, some Jets were very off and Rinne made some key saves. A couple bounces and we would have won it. Series tied 2-2, not the end of the world by any means.

I think Laine scoring that late one is gonna carry over to the next game. He was pissed off at himself all night, swearing at himself on the bench. Think a fire has been lit.

Jets will win on Saturday

I wish I had ur ducking optimism
I try to look at the big picture. Pretty much any team that has won the Stanley Cup has had games like this during their run. As a single game it sucks. On the whole, it's just one game.
We have as good of a chance at winning this series as Nashville does. They are a great team. I believe it'll go to 7 games and anything can happen. I would be happy as punch if the Jets won, but if they don't, I won't think they are anything less than a great team.

Maurice was out coached at the start of the lineup card. Brilliant move by the Preds coach. Sticking in Hartnell guaranteed Maurice would dress Hendricks. Preds get the goal on the 4th line, a PP goal and shut things down. Good coaching on the road .

TLC line and a line of Little, Armia and anyone but #15 could have been a slightly better lineup. Perrault? Matthias? Dano? Cilantro?

Quick thoughts...

ESW - Completely out of sync. Scheifele tried, but they were shut down. Wheeler couldn't make a pass, and they generated nothing.

CSL - Didn't like this combination this game. Connor made a few nice plays early on, but I think Maurice should have switched the lines back sooner.

TLL - Best line, overall. Little was the Jets' best forward by a mile.

HCA - Complete disaster. Maurice really needs to realize that he can't keep on playing a 3 line game against the Preds. He has plenty of depth on the roster, and he squanders it by playing Hendricks again and again. At this rate, he's going to wear out his top 9 quickly. Just a brutal, brutal line-up decision.

Enstrom-Buff - Buff with his worst game of the playoffs, and it's not really close. He seemed to want to win the game on each of his shifts in the first period, and was way too aggressive. As the game went on, he looked tired. Enstrom was smooth and covered up for Buff a lot.

Morrissey-Trouba - Steady, unspectacular. I think they were slow on their pinches, though.

Chiarot-Myers - Tire fire, Myers couldn't make a pass. They were eaten up by the forecheck... At the beginning of the series I expressed concern about this pairing, and I am very worried about how they'll get exploited by the Preds in Nashville when they control the match-ups. I'd have played Morrow from the start of the series with Myers. Chiarot is too slow and ponderous.

Helly was okay.

Hartnell >>> Hendricks. That's on Maurice.

You guys will be fine. 2-2. and the Jets have looked better in 3 of the 4 games. They won already in Nashville, so it can be done. I think it goes 7, and that is crazy nerve-wracking, but fair when the 2 best teams play.

Subban has been great, but Nashville absolutely had to win this game to have a chance at the series. The Jets game 3 win was more impressive, coming back from 3-0 down and winning the game going away. Rinne finally had one good game in 4 games. Hellebuyck looked good too - .931 GAA.

It seems a stretch that Rinne will have 2 more perfect games, but Connor has had like 5 amazing games this playoffs, so he's much more likely to win 2 of the 3. And Laine finally got the monkey off his back, so he will play with confidence in the next few games.

Bottom line, the Jets' chances of winning the series are better than Nashville's. Keep the faith Jets Nation! I and many others are on your side. How about a Helle shutout in Nashville next game? :thumbu:

In Nashville the Jets need to score early and often get them to open up, positives from tonight are few Laine scored maybe he goes on a streak, Little was really moving , Trouba had a good game, that's it. They want to trap we need more speed, Saturday is a winnable game but they can't play like tonight. Lowry is useless if he not hitting anyone, Hendricks the game has passed him by, Myers had his one good game wasn't tonight, better efforts on Saturday hopefully.
