I guess you’re right. Skjei is slowly turning it around, which is great. And I’m not big on Hajek, but he’s been called up, which hopefully means he’s been playing well. If he can become a 2nd pairing guy who’s a stud defensively (the offense wouldn’t matter that much), him and DeAngelo would make a great pairing.
Correct me if I'm wrong but besides the terrific WJC he had offensively Hajek is known more for his defense right? If he pans out that would be a terrific 2nd pairing with ADA in 2-3 years.
So if I could sign for Byram (unless there is a can't miss forward when we pick) right now I would to assure us another top 4 guy albeit K'Andre could become one if he even comes close to reaching his potential.

I think he was known for being a good passer and smart in all 3 zones, but not flashy.

I sure that’ll come as he develops his shot more
I certainly hope so. Now that he seems to have found solid footing with a franchise and is taking regular shifts, one would think that would enable him to develop other parts of his game.

I have to think that is what we all expect now from him ....baby steps...I have enjoyed watching him very much . Hopefully he can find a stable D partner and they can work on that part . I don't expect him to be Rod Langway in that regard but if he became a Brian Leetch ExtraLight LOL[in his own defensive end]...I could live with that . It will take some time likely .

Agreed. He needs not have a booming slapshot, but something that can consistently get through to the net.

The defensive aspect of his game can come much faster. Requires coaching and a desire to become better and not take short cuts.

Goal scoring is not why I am mentioning the shot. Getting a puck through to the net on the power play is what I am talking about. When your PP QB can do that, it only helps.

He’s very good at that though. He’s already shown that. He also knows how to walk the line to find shooting lanes. He beat vasilevskiy the other night right off the post doing this

Tony is a treat to watch. Definitely a part of our core going forward. Prospects (especially on the back-end) don't always work out. But I'd be lying if I said I'm not excited about our right side of the future, especially if we add a guy like Fox.

Yeah he is pretty good at getting his shot through an on net, but maybe he can pick up some tips from Shattenkirk who has always been great at getting his wrist shot through traffic and scoring goals that way.

He does a good job getting shots through but they’re pathetically weak

Complete waste unless tipped

To me, DeAngelo is always looking for sticks moreso than shots on goal. I'd prefer the shots looking for sticks in the age of shot-blocking than someone trying to bomb it away from the point.

I think the more ice he gets the more we’ll see it. First PP time is key
See, here I think that there needs to be a desire to not just be a distributor, but an effective shooter of the puck. The intent is not necessarily to score a goal but to get it on goal and let the Kreiders of the world jam the rebound.
