Recalled/Assigned: Tony DeAngelo back to Wolfpack

Why? So we can sneak in as an 8 seed? What are we giving up for Duchene? Hayes and Smith? As if. Do you want to trade Skjei for him? That's really the only player we have that colorado would trade Duchene for. And what do we do when his contract is up at the end of next season? Sign him for 8M+?

Have to give to get, and also...Rick Nash makes how much and his contract is over when?

Wouldn't be an issue from that perspective, just on who we would have to give up.

We've been trying it. It goes great until AV decides McDonagh should be with Smith instead and then it's a f***ing disaster.

Again, give to get what, in the end? An 8th seed wildcard appearance? Is that what you ultimately want? Do you truly believe this team is a Duchene away from winning a cup?

Tony has the tools. He still makes a lot of bonehead plays. Time in Hfd will be good for him. And it gets him away from the negativity surrounding the big club. Good move, IMO.

People are rightfully upset about the double standard that continues to exist with the ****head coach.

I hope the team keeps losing until AV gets fired.

Exactly.

Hell, I was upset over Emerson f***ing Etem and Etem was trash. It's about AV's bullshit.

No problem with this. Kid needs to develop. Issue 100% with the constant misuse/yo-yo treatment of young players.

People have a unique ability to conflate this with their complaints about other players/defensemen. Very little of the rage is about whats best for DeAngelo.

When things get rough, it becomes like a mudslide.

You turn around and everything gets caught up in the flow. Usually, things calm down with time and a clearer picture begins to emerge.

But the boards have always managed to whip itself up into a frenzy. I started writing for HF more than 20 years ago and it's always been that way. ALWAYS.

The names change, the newer and/or younger guys come in with all the answers to enlighten us, the older guys get more tired and jaded, and we do the whole dance over again.

So first Buchnevich goes from the first line to the fourth and now Deangelo goes from playing with Mcdonagh to the AHL.

Yup, they surely know what they're doing.

This team isn't in a position, yet, where young players are to go out there and "learn" from being abused playing top minutes against the NHL's best at even strength. If they were -- and they might be soon depending on what Gorton does with this roster -- then maybe this argument would hold a little more water.

I am just trying to address the lack of top end talent on our roster, and more specifically the center position.

This is exactly the problem. Although Staal & Holden reunited will drop things deeper into the abyss. Some of the early season hyperbole will creep closer to
reality as this mess continues to evolve.

People actually think Smith or Holden have been better than ADA? I could maybe agree with they have all been about as equally bad but if they all were 22 and were not waiver eligible, ADA would get the overwhelming support to stay up based just on this season to date. Shattenkirk as least has some points.

Smith was scratched twice, he has had one half of one period where he showed glimpses of being NHL capable and there is so little discussion about that or about his PK ability which is plain bad. Shattenkirk gets turn-stilled twice a game, he rotates that ability with Holden. Other than two bad give aways earlier in the season ADA has been mostly invisible defensively which should be seen as a welcome addition compared to what Holden, Smith and Shattenkirk are/should be noticed for.

Frankly, I think a lot of forwards would tune his ass up, at this point, if we tried that.

I'd caution that throwing a developing young player into the deep end of the pool is not always the best way to get them experience. Sometimes, as we've seen many times, it very much has the reverse effect.

This is especially true when they play defense, which always takes a little longer to develop.

And in ADA's case, it's his defensive play that we all know he is still working to develop.

He literally just turned 22, this is hardly unexpected or unchartered territory.

I think that was actually tried already, and ADA performed well. This is about this coach’s haphazard approach to putting a lineup together and repeating the same mistakes while expecting a new result. I’m fairly certain there’s a word for that approach.

Phew, I was worried that we might start giving him 15 mins a night in the NHL. Now he can play 20 in Hartford and we can all revel in the glory that is Holden...

Stupidity? Pejorative Sluration? Stubbornness? Ego?

Abused? Deangelo was good with 27, certaintly better than half of our defense and Buchnevich is playing better than all of our wings not named JT. Miller, maybe Zuccarello too.
