People who say cancel culture.

DeAngelo is an unrepentant piece of shit. He has a history of making racist and homophobic comments to HIS TEAMMATES. He has a history of making racist comments on twitter. He got in a fight with his goalie. There should be consequences to being a horrible person, especially if you have shown zero remorse and just say "ive been cancelled by the woke mob." That's not what happened. His entitled bullshit outweighed his value in a sport that does everything it can to look the other way at stuff like this until the world makes it reckon with it.
My hope is that Tony DeAngelo one day realizes that his entitled white guy bullshit is toxic and he changes for the better but up until he went silent last year, everything we know about him is defiance. You see the interview with his father from back in the day and you realize the rot is deep.

His talent should not enable his awful behavior.

All that said, this guys definitely signing in Montreal.

Wouldn't be surprised if Virtanen follows him.

I can’t speak to the rest. But did he get into a fight? Or did his goalie sucker him?

Imo would be a great pickup for TML if it's a one-year prove it (again) deal. The value here would be insane if he can mesh with the group.

I think overall McAvoy is a top 10-15 Dman in the NHL, but when it comes to running a powerplay Deangelo would by far be the best on the Bruins. Also according to Daily Faceoff your number 1 pp unit has Grzelyck on it. Deangelo is definitely better at running a PP than Grzelyck.

They played Gryz bc he's a left shot. the Bruins power play is designed to have a left shot on the top of the umbrella (Krug). McAvoy is wizard on the PP but his handedness is square peg/round hole with the top unit. He's significantly better than DeAngelo it just doesn't fit with that unit. DeAngelo would have the same problem while also being a lesser hockey player.

And McAvoy is a top 5 d man.

Fixing what? We don't even know what the real problem is. He used a slur in juniors. Who hasn't used a slur as a teenager? Kids make mistakes...His political views don't need fixing. They are his views and he is entitled to them. 50% of North America agrees with him on his stances.
Georgiev cost the team that game. DeAngelo was hot, and made a regrettable comment. It happens. Everybody is so sensitive in 2021. People need to learn to forgive and move on... life is too short. Whoever gets Tony D is immensely improving their hockey team. He was fourth in all defencemen in scoring in 2020, which shows his commitment to the game. You can't do that in the NHL without a commitment to the game.
Why does he have to keep his mouth shut? If liberals can do it, so can conservatives. Basketball players voice their opinions all the time, but because it aligns with liberal views it's okay? He can talk about whatever he wants, as long as he comes to the rink focused on hockey.. and he does that.

1. I never used a racial slur to another player/person at any age, no
2. His political views are what they are - but there is no need to shove it down our throats on social media. Why would any team want that type of attention? And 50% of America doesn't agree with him. He is a Trump humper, I voted Trump because I agree with more of his policy direction than Biden. Tony loves Trump's egotistical demeanor and is almost a spitting image of him.
3. How do you know he regretted the comment, did he say that? He literally talked shit and fought his goalie after a game AFTER he was warned by the organization he was on thin ice. What kind of pea brain does that?
4. Not keeping his mouth shut cost his millions of dollars, thats why he should keep his mouth shut. Hes simply an idiot

Why do people calling others racist always make a racist statement when doing so?

Slightly off topic but interesting non the less, something a lot of people miss is that Trump's Policy itself was fairly mainstream basic b**** moderate Republican. His antics on the other hand were not.

Salary Cap Circumvention 101. The Leafs pay off doctors to figure out the world's first successful brain transplant, put Martin Marincin's non-controversial-statement-making brain in Tony D's body, profit $$$

Saying "entitled white guy bullshit" is hardly racist and it's pretty safe to assume that the guy who wrote it is also white.
I would say its safe to assume the vast majority of people posting on a hockey forum in July are white...
Much like the vast majority of hockey fans and players are white....
It's like the whitest sport in the world.
Coincidence?

Hopefully FS has some bad Intel because I'd have no interest in that.

I also don't exactly see where he fits. The D may need a 7th/Bogosion-lite PK guy, but aside from that it's set.

Rielly Brodie
Muzzin Holl
Sandin Dermott/7th D

Where is DeAngelo fitting?
FS and bad intel do not go together.

Always find it hilarious rhe same arguments people make every time. “Everyone says mean things!!”, “so he said 1 racist thing, so what??? So many players say stuff like that!!”

news flash, no they don’t. If they did, many more players would be getting in trouble. But hey, they don’t. DeAngelo seems to be repeatedly getting in shit all by himself. Maybe the problems with him and not with this made up idea of “cancel culture”?

Fans aren’t benching this guy and putting him on waivers. He’s clearly in unique shit and has pissed off multiple coaches and teammates. Go ahead calling everyone he’s played with a snowflake if you want, but stop acting like tis the fans “cancelling” him. It’s his teammates and coaches that have “cancelled” him, because he’s a selfish twat.

He's definitely not any less than holier than people here, or at least me. But I am not the one playing in a league that constantly puts me on the spotlight
If my job required me to be a holly person although I am not, I'll make sure I act like the pope

Toronto media will have. hey day with him if he gets here.
