Thats cool and all, and the isles look like they will definately make a WC spot again this year

but isnt anyone going to mention that Luka Doncic got traded in one of the most bizarre trades ever over in the NBA

The sad truth is he’s a good player who tends to piss off people. I liked him at NYR even though my politics are the polar opposite of his.
As far as I can see he’s not said anything too egregious for many years. If he doesn’t upset his teammates (and for a lot of the time in New York he got on well with people with v different views) he’s going to do really well.
He needs to stop being so hot headed with his own teammates and save it for his opponents. If your own player plays shit you support them, don’t attack them.
Obviously given who he plays for now I hope he fails miserably

Not mentioned is how unreal hes been in his own end too. He saved 3 goals tonight with defensive plays.

Hes been unbelievably good for the isles these first 4 games.

When those nerdy analytic score cards come out he’ll probably have the best one on the isles
Let's see em

100% if he can be a good teammate, and is coachable, he still has a good chunk of an NHL career ahead of him. Consistency in that regard has been his struggle, and the hot headedness is part of it. Politics have 0 to do with that.

Told you he could help an NHL team
Sure he helping them out of a lottery pick, it really doesn't do anything for the NYI long-term as they aren't s erious SC contender and their pipeline isn't all that great.

Hopefully his time in Russia taught him to more thoroughly appreciate the opportunity he has to play in the NHL.

His history is that his focus is inconsistent. (Maybe that changes?)

But he's been really good, and not really in a flashy way. His best attribute has been having a plan for playing the puck before he gets it. I know NYI aren't going anywhere. The forwards, especially with Barzal hurt, are not threatening. But right now Sorokin is playing like the best goalie in the league, and every opposing forward knows where the hell Alexander Romanov is at all times.
