I mean yeah when looking at the video that is slowed down to 1/10 of a second it clearly looks like that. When you watch it in real time, Wilson slams him down (still not good) and his helmet falls off all in one motion. Again, not defending what he did to Buchnevich, but the extremely slowed down version of the Panarin incident is pretty convenient for the “I hate Tom Wilson”
crowd.

I don’t get what you’re saying here.

The replay shows Wilson pulled Panarin’s hair. Why is this “convenient” for people who don’t like Tom Wilson? It’s literally just showing what happened and what you couldn’t see in real time. Like...should it not count as a bitch play because it took a replay to show what he actually did?

The only good news is that, in a week, Wilson is going to cry like a big baby and beg for forgiveness to avoid a massive suspension and we'll get to use it as meme material for his supporters.

Yeah I think I disagree with that take. If you're in a scrum and a smaller skilled player grabs ahold of you just to tie you up and settle things down there is no need to grab his head from behind and try to drive it into the ice. You really can kill someone easily like that. Wilson has 40 lbs on him, knows he's not fighter and Panarin was not throwing punches. It's one thing if Panarin starts throwing punches and trying to nail him but he was just tying him up. I don't have any real issue with the little shot he gave Buchnevich.
I mean I don’t disagree that should probably be the case, but there are a handful of guys (Wilson being one of them) where it doesn’t matter who comes at them, they’re gonna give it right back. IMO, the Buchnevich thing was worse and the Panarin thing looked worse because the size difference, but obviously neither was good.

Incredibly vicious, violent, uncalled for, dangerous attacks. This is about as bad as it gets. These are not fights, this is Wilson assaulting skilled players and driving their heads extremely violently into the ice, this is the sort of stuff than can leave guys permanently brain damaged or even dead.

His longest suspension to date is 20 games, this was WAY worse IMO. I’d give him at least 40 games, personally.
Did Wilson grab Panarin and throw him on to his own shoulders? He didn't go hunting for it, he dealt with the guy directly on top of him.

edit: to clarify, I agree with the above. Once they get out of the pile and Wilson knows who he has, he doesn't need to slam him. I'm vocally against the slam in this thread already, but you make it sound like he went looking for Panarin on purpose.

could you imagine how much of a massive piece of dog excrement you would have to be to not only create that Wilson tweet but then make it an avatar. Disgusting human scum
Par for the course. Organization sets the pathetic tone and the lap dogs slurp it right up

I don't want to wish ill on a person but I wouldn't shed a single tear if Tom Wilson suffered a career-ending injury tomorrow. He can act like a tough guy, in a sport where guys don't know how to fight worth a shit, but, one day, he's going to get his. And it will be glorious.

Rashomon effect
Easy with those obscure film references there, Harry Lime.

Guy needs a serious psychological assessment. At this point the league has to see Wilson as a liability.

He should be suspended season + playoffs and tack on another 20 to start next season. NHL can't seem to get it right though.
