Okay, so you and I have both thrown a punch. You looking at the one in this thread and telling me that's got life-threatening heat behind it? That's... fine if you are, I guess you can't rule out tiny chances, but I don't think it's a significant enough chance to call it "intent to injure".
That's really, as usual, my sticking point in Wilson threads. I think it's pretty common knowledge in most cases that you try not to punch the heads of players that are already on the ice. It does happen from time to time, of course, in the crease and after bigger hits where one or both players are knocked down, but generally speaking you expect fighters to follow fighting rules and that's one of them. That's a very reasonable thing to be upset about, but I would draw the line at upset. It doesn't need to be anything more than shitty for people to be upset and that's totally fine. It's kind of like punching a guy being held by the ref: there are two ways to do it, both are shitty, but one is a manner of gamesmanship that doesn't really break the boundaries of this sport and the other is a guy losing his nuggets in a way you can't look past or forgive. This punch is not the latter, so the overwhelming majority patting each other on the pack bleating "sociopath" doesn't really sway me.
