Toews for a 1st? Good luck getting anything of value for him. He has negative value even if you retain salary.

I don't think he has that many negative values . Sure he only has 9 assists in 21 games with a plus minus -10 and zero goals . He didn't play for a year and that is a big factor to consider however he has 1 year remaining on his contract he is still solid defensively and excellent on face offs so a team that is a true contender would see great value in a 3 time stanley cup champ . Plus being a center is value and on a better team he won't be playing heavy minutes

That's why I said he could still bring back a 1st round pick

If you're not willing to give up major pieces, you shouldn't be asking for Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews.

Neither are worth "major pieces".

Toews maybe gets a 1st round pick he is still over 50% on the face-off.

A face-off specialist isn't bringing back a 1st in any scenario.
