Post-Game Talk: To be the man you have to beat the man... Habs beat cup champs 3-1!

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
I honestly think he's a 4th liner with PP1 minutes

Unless his mobility gets way better, that's how I see it

One of the things I didn't know about Laine before he got here is how he can still make plays while being stationary.

Like he will have guys on top of him but he finds a way to get the puck into a space which you didn't think was possible.

Hopefully his skating improves after a full off season. You have to wonder if it's a result of him opting not to have surgery in preseason.

What about giving him some quality players? It's been a known issue since Monahan in 2022 that we have nobody after the 1st line.

I don't remember his trio getting over 30 secs in the offensive zone 5on5 even once since he returned.

How is Laine supposed to show his worth when he's never in the offensive zone?

We got no offensive forwards outside our 1st line. 0 creatively! Poor Laine. He's trying the best he can and he's doing a great job.

I think this is part of why other teams fans can be so bitter.

Their barns are a snoozefest even on the best days. The BC can sound like a playoff game at any given night. Fans have fun, the players feed off the energy and us nerds on HF can feast on the sweet, bitter tears of these rival fans.
Panthers fan(s) was mad tonight? Why!?!

I just saw the no goal from the firsf. Ngl that was weak af. Gallagher barely touched old boy.

It was probably the right call by the book, but it reminded me of those plays where a guy has a toenail offside and had no effect on the eventual goal. Those are frustrating.

Bobrovsky was not stopping that puck regardless of what happened around him, but Gallagher went too far in, and bob's stick came out of his hands.

It's the right call by the letter of the law, even if it wouldn't change the end result.

I don't know about Farrell but we do need to find someone to fit that second line. It's not Beck or Roy right now, but we need to find someone.
I saw a lot of small plays Roy did good tonight . I expect he will start scoring or getting grade a chances within the next five games

He looked like he just dropped his stick tho soon as he realized that sexy ass CH jersey was remotely close to him. Reading thr GDT I thought Gally actually bumped him judging by how many ppl wanted his head.

I can live with that , but the interference non call just under the eyes of the refs is bush league

He does that sneaky "oh I'm in trouble" routine on the boards sometimes and pulls 2 opponents to him then the puck comes out perfectly to teammates who get a 2 on 1. Did that in two games for Finland, does it often in NHL.

It's like the "call the ambulance.....but not for me!" meme

Definitely a fun game with an incredibly entertaining 3rd period. Credit to Monty, he's really playing well lately. I'm wondering if bringing Dobes up provided him relief in not feeling he has to carry the team by himself.

Also, I played a game where I took a shot everytime I saw Gally laying on the ice. Let's just say I think I'm going to be hungover in the morning.

What did you say ? What did he say ?

Tell us everything verbatim. Describe his tone, demeanor and inflections. Please, we want every single detail. Did his scalp sweat ? It must have, unless he's lazy. Please, we need to know.

I was with somebody he knew, for some reason he asked me my name and I told him to "keep up the good work" and he left laughing.

I think we're in love or something?

But seriously, seemed real nice and took the time to speak to a total nobody like me lmfao Martin seemed nice too although I didn't speak to him.

PK with Yoel is on WHOLE. OTHAH. LEVEL.
That's why we keep him. He's a much better player since his demotion last year. Add Demidov + a 2C (internal/external) + hopefully RB's emergence and health at RD + someone like Tuch, maybe Davidson and this team will be in da mix if not a yet a bonafide contender next season. There's something a brewing' imo

They'll likely be in the toughest division in hockey for awhile though
