not every game, but there were games we played good and lost, and what does this have to do with the email that was specifically talking about the pushback during the vegas series
The effort was there in game 1 and game 1 only. Just like the effort was there only during the front half of the season. I wanted your take on the regular season effort as compared to the post season. I got my answer.

so you think that we played no good games in the second half of the season? and no it was more then one game, you don't come back from 3 down after losing a top 10 defensemen in the first minute of the game against the #1 seed with out effort, you aren't with in a goal in the final 2 minutes in the next game after losing your #1 center in the first minute of the game while still not having your #1 d #1 winger and 50 point rookie winger already out without effort. of course there are going to be periods of bad play in the series when were without a full top 6 line and norris level defensemen

At the end of the day we are all Jets fans and want them to be successful but we need some change so we can get better and win some playoff games. I really think it's time for Chevy to go, 12 years is a long time and i for one would like some fresh outside eyes come in and change some things. Ya that new GM might not work either but it's time to try some new ideas and change out some of our players starting with Wheeler.

scott billeck is a reported who covers the jets, and had he done so properly and read the full article he would realize that it doesn't undermind bones comments, instead he posted a screenshot and cropped out the part where it says read more here and made it seem like they sent out a 2 paragraph email going against bones post game comments
He simply posted a summary… THAT TNSE WROTE.
The man did nothing wrong.

I think TNSE using those quotes to headline an email is worth noting and it is worth questioning what that says with regards to them having or not having Bones' back. Billeck is also a fan... I am not sure expecting Woodward and Bernstein level investigative journalism in a tweet about an email sent by the ownership group of the Winnipeg Jets is a fair expectation. I think we should question the thought process behind that email and if that indicates how this organization really feels rather than attacking Billeck's journalistic integrity for simply tweeting a screenshot of an email. I bet 80% of this board would have done the same if they got that email and were active on hockey twitter.
I’m not entirely sure the ownership group sent that email out tbh. Somehow I doubt Chipman and co vet every newsletter blast sent out by the Jets.com team. More likely it’s was Clinton or that team that used that as the intro to the article.
I still think Billeck sidestepped the rest of the article by suggesting the intro was the overall feeling of the organization, it clearly wasn’t.
At the end of the day, it’s much ado about nothing imo. I highly doubt this was some calculating orchestration to brain wash the public over the Jets performance this season. A little too conspiratorial for my taste.
If it was, it sure didn’t work on me. I’m as disappointed in the season as I was previous to this.

Ya the one thing we have learned, well at least in my head anyways is it's not a coaching problem with this team it's some of the players not wanting to put in the hard work that it takes to win playoff games. Florida is working their ass's off.

By pushing this narrative and be sure that they are behind this. They are undermining their coach full stop.

Pretty F'ing sad.
by using the words he said in the video posted above the paragraph... right...

He simply posted a summary… THAT TNSE WROTE.

posting the summary wasn't what was wrong... posting it as if it was only 2 paragraph and saying it went against what bones said was what was wrong

You realize this guy works for the marketing department and is asked to write content for the site. It the teams message.

You don't feel pushing back on the push back narrative is undermining the coach ?

What's your excuse?
So this is an article written by the team, and then parsed as a summary for an email to season ticket holders?

I'm just confused, lol.

And well, as always, I'm shocked at the players and organization defending mediocrity. I get the feeling the entire org is happy with making the playoffs and getting bounced in short order.

Two seasons with a playoff series win since their return, and one of them was with no fans in the building, while playing in one of the worst divisions in recent memory.

That is the standard these players are fighting to keep.

I don't think it was sent to season ticket holders, I'm pretty sure it's just a jets news letter based off of what said said on exit interviews

The article as a whole is mostly harmless fluff, but if you don't think the exact paragraph that was chosen to be highlighted in the email was intentional, you are delusional.

The article isn't and wasn't the issue. When you open an email from the club a day after the press conferences, and the first thing you see highlighted in blue specifically calls out the pushback comment....I mean, that is tacky, at a minimum.

I think a lot of folks are understandably upset about game 5 and the piss per effort, but let's not have revisionist history here guys. I think the Jets actually played pretty well considering all the factors. The difference in the series was the Jets were beat up a lot more, we had absolutely zero puck luck. And let's face it goaltending was heavily slanted for vegas, again.

What about Jan Feb March ? They could just come out and say disappointed with the playoffs and second half. And to a man we'd be fine with the message.

I saw this on twitter, please please please tell me this is fake. They can't possibly be this oblivious. Can any STHs here confirm whether this thing is real or fake news?

Did you read the article, they specifically mentioned the second half in it as a disappointment here is the very start of the article:

ups and downs of the 2022-23 season

"We had a really good stretch, and then we couldn't keep putting that together."

Not hiding from the second half collapse at all, it's right at the beginning of the article.

"WINNIPEG - Whenever a team doesn't reach the lofty goals set in training camp, disappointment will always be present as year-end exit meetings are conducted and locker stalls cleaned out.

That was the case for the Winnipeg Jets two days after being eliminated in five games by the Vegas Golden Knights."

So contrary to popular belief it seems the org is fully admitting that goals weren't reached and they weren't satisfied with the result.

"If a series 4-1 you can't be just OK with that. You're a loser if that's your approach."

"We'll never be satisfied just getting in, and getting in eighth spot and getting into the first round,"

Seems to me the article actually hits on most everything people on here are saying/wanted to hear.

This is not a huge deal by any stretch, but is just a bad reflection on the organization when the biggest problem they have right now is trust with the fan base. This isn't so much about the Vegas series--it's been heating up for a few seasons, and now has spontaneously combusted.

The "plenty of pushback" line was idiotic IMO--anyone with a shred of media savvy should know that it would engender this reaction. So I don't blame Billick for doing his job, which is to ruffle feathers when necessary....and often when not.

As for needing to read the whole article for clarification, hardly anyone does that these days, so headlines and screenshots are even more important.

After Chevy's presser there is very little tolerance for more lame PR, so they'd better get their shit together in the media room.
