Wait…only 2 games for that?? :shakehead

This farce of a league really has zero credibility anymore.
Well, at least no more credibility above that of other professional sports for which player safety is similarly a bad joke, other than the QB in the NFL who are actually protected, but only because the owners didn't like the lost revenues when their QBs went down.

I think that’s a reasonable argument but because Tkachuk has previously jabbed a player in the face on a similar play, it should be no less than 2 games.

He clearly didn’t get the message from the fine that jabbing your stick at a players face is not a safe way to agitate someone.
nailed it

Funny enough, Quick did try to pick a fight with him at the end of the game.
Not just Quick. Kopitar of all people took issue with Tkachuk. The only other player to bring that reaction out from Anze was Alexandre Burrows.
Kopitar had to jump in because Quick was already taking matters into his own hands.
(not saying that Kopitar wouldn’t have anyway)

He may have just been twirling his stick. Yet you still have to be responsible for your stick at all times. A lot of people are also using the term "inadvertent" to describe the incident.
Although that may be correct, it's still a penalty.

You'd have to be the most naive person in the world to think that was inadvertent.

As a Nashville fan, I have to say that was dirty. How often do you see a goalie go after a skater?

Two games and $5K doesn't seem like enough, but I can live with it. Next time, make it 4 games and a $5K fine.

Matt Tkachuk, back from suspension, squares off with an opposing player.

"Hey, who is that & why is he staring at me like that?"

Tkachuk got suspended and Johnathan Quick's eyeball was quickly put back into its socket. All's well that ends well.

I'm just trying to imagine what kind of person would intentionally put their stick into someone's eye in the hopes that it hurts them.

People like that usually wind up in prison

2 is better than none. It's pretty amazing how the league is slowly changing. This would have been 0 not that long ago.
