Tkachuk Broken Sternum and Ekblad Multiple Injuries

and they allowed him to play in game 4...
there should be something done to player safety in the NHL..
- like for real

this shit has lasted as long as NHL has existed

goons, physical type of players dying early because head and mental trauma
players been allowed to play while seriously injured

criminal charges to these so called doctors and physicians
and to managers, coaches

ps. don't give me bs that player feels that he can play
this is forced labor

It's always amazing the injuries hockey players manage to play with, even for a short while. The commitment makes you appreciate the game more, especially when so many other sports (i.e., baseball, basketball, soccer) have players looking for any reason to sit out.

On the other hand, one of the things that really sucks about hockey and the NHL in particular is that the physicality consumes the very players you most want to watch. What fun is it to have Tkachuk's team get smoked in the Final when his body finally breaks in half after so much abuse?

This has been a systemic thing in the NHL for a long time. Yes it's fun to watch players throw themselves recklessly into danger, but it's not fun to watch that behavior catch up with them.

Shit on Tkachuk all you want, every one of you would love him on your team. And he’s a f***ing Panther!! In 30 years I’ve bought 3 jerseys, 2 Laus jerseys, 1 Tkachuk.

Dude breaks his sternum after the hit (either Kolesar doing or how he fell, either way nice hit Kolesar. I mean, go f*** yourself, but nice hit), comes back scores the game tying goal and is key in the OT goal. Obviously not well in Game 4.

Got extended playoff experience, got to watch my boys in June, and Zito will put some work in. Should be a fun summer…not as fun Vegas fans will have, but nonetheless.

I understand where you're coming from for sure. It's a double-edged sword no doubt and often bad luck, too.

Forced labor? These guys have to be forced NOT to dress.

For all the Conn Smythe talk in this game from broadcast commenters all fixating on Vegas players, IMO it came down to Marchy, Eichel and Tkachuk. What Matthew did throughout the playoffs was phenomenal.

You live by the sword, you die by the sword. And in Matthew Tkachuk's case, he died by the sword.

Suck it Matthew!
Feel better?

Totally agree, he was far better this whole year than I could’ve hoped for.

Guess how many penalties these events resulted in:
Guess how many suspensions:

Penalties: 0
Suspensions: 0

Games played for all of these: 1

Yes, all this happened in the same game.

Let me repeat this for those who didn't read it when I wrote it the dozens of times before:

The NHL doesn't give a flying f*** about player safety.

Given Bob's meltdown in the Final, and the circumstances of Games 4 and 5, I would have been on board with Tkachuk receiving the Smythe in street clothes.

Yes. It was very much fun
