We cannot name someone because we as fans have no way of knowing who is available but your post implies that we want a Burke or Nonis type and that is mostly untrue.
it Is a very weak argument when a poster throws out the worst possible names and then asks……..who would you pick. Again just because we are not privy to who might be a good replacement doesn’t mean that we don’t know that changes need to be made.

Dubas will win a cup as gm of an nhl team. Want it to be us

Conspiracy theory: Dubas and Liljegren's rep agreed to this deal months ago but it was held back to be press released as a narrative counter measure.

IMO I think we screwed up with Dermott. Dermott was drafted to be the puck move after Rielly

we ran with these top 4s and Dermott didn't really get a chance IMO

Rielly Hainsey
Gardiner Polak

then

Rielly Ceci
Muzzin Holl/Barrie

then

Rielly Brodie
Muzzin Holl

then

Rielly Lybushkin
Muzzin Brodie

I still think Dermott is going to be a decent D-man. With the nucks and Boudreau I think he fairs better

The way Toronto danced the draft board and settled on Dermott, who was kind of the PPQB on the McDavid Erie Otters, I thought Hunter and friends were looking for the next Keith/Subban/Letang. Turned out to be such a vanilla player. Like Jake Gardiner without the offense.

I don't know man. Dermott would drop the gloves and play tough hockey unlike Gardiner. Personally I think dubas didn't want to play that way.

heck maroon/perry kept taking penalties but they kept playing. dubas/keefe benched both clifford/simmonds

Probably was offered a 1 yr deal but the agent said we’ll sign a two year today, which is really three years with the qualifying offer.

Good deal I'm surprised it happened so quick I'm guessing this paves the way for a Holl trade

Oh my heart just skipped a beat thinking about the possibility.

Odog is good at intermissions and panels during games.
He’s just ok at that, it’s just everything else locally is so subpar he stands out in a sea of mediocrity. Maybe the long season is wearing on baby monkey and he’s snapping more than usual, but it’s not entertaining at all lately

Maroon and Perry can play a shift and contribute something. Neither cliff or simmer can do that

I would not be surprised to see Simmonds moved this offseason. Somewhere he wants to go obviously, but I think he agrees to it before going on waivers and possibly getting claimed by a BUF or ARI. Maybe Detroit or even Ottawa? Both are close enough to home and could find some value in him as a 4th line veteran.

There is no way Simmonds should be in the lineup next year, and I don't see him wanting to slum it on the Marlies while he waits for his next shot. Clifford is already going to be the guy who does that to some extent and that is the best Clifford can hope for at this point in his career.

I liked Dermott and hope he manages to make things work with the Nucks. But the fact is he also wasn't abel to take advantage of the opportunities that he was given to show he could be a top 4 guy. He tended to buckle a bit during games he moved up the lineup.

For some reason, they really don't like Lilly. I don't understand that one bit.
Because ego and self-preservation are two of mankind's ugliest traits.

They got it wrong and are too stupid to realize how idiotic they look for trying to keep this up.

Turn them off. Never watch them again. The more you watch the more they do it.

I'll take it! My hope was a 3 years × 2.0 million type contract, but I expected 2 years to come in around 1.5-1.6, so this is a SMALL discount, IMO.

It’s background noise for me while I’m driving or on the iptv if I’m home working. At least iptv doesn’t count for ratings lol

LOL.

Well done sir. (I have my ways too....)
We just cut the cord last week after discovering this great new service. $100/year all channels in 4K or hd included. Much cheaper than my Shaw cable & centre ice package. Gotta save somewhere with inflation these days

Sounds really sweet......I had given up on mine because the CDN sports channels sucked, and that is what I had got it first in place.

There is very little reason (beyond a personal connection with Kyle dubas maybe) to believe with certainty he'll ever win a cup as a GM. Yzerman for instance never won a cup as GM.

He won't be coming onto many up and coming teams with elite young talent should he fail in Toronto.

If he does end up being moved on from Toronto, he not likely to find a GM job right away. His reputation will be severely hurt and he's gotten almost 0 tangible success to help him find another team to believe in him

It's got to work in Toronto or he's looking for a career change

I agree with you. He just needs the right situation. He has the tools. I know, I know some will say he doesn't have the tool box but I disagree with that... Hope he does well with Vancouver. His minutes increased with them as the season wound down I believe.

The guy running the team who just won the cup tried to hire him & him alone and when denied the opportunity felt the only other option was to do the job himself.
I’m sure Kyle won’t be out of work longer than he wants to be once his tenure in Toronto closes

He’ll talk himself into another job, just like he did here.
