Robbed NY? I doubt it. I think Howson got good value given the circumstance, but Rick Nash has been unreal good with the Rangers this year. Way better than he ever was with us.

If the Rags get knocked out of the first round you have a fairly high pick in a deep draft. Let's hope for you that Jarmo can work his magic with 3 first round picks. I think you could look at this in a few years and see it as you robbed NY.

I really think that we will look back on this and see a hockey trade. Nash is the beast we all knew he would be with a good team around him. He is a fantastic talent and still one of my favorite players (I'll be a fan of the rangers for as long as he is there...starting next year).

However, with AA we got a legit top six guy, Dubinsky is the type of guys who helps you win and a guy who will give everything for his teammates, Erixon is already a top 4 guy who's stock is still rising and could become the second best player involved in the deal, and a 1st round pick that could turn into a good player. Add to that the clear locker room shift that occurred as a result of that trade and we made out really well.

He's making good use of his ice time, I expect him to stick in our top six even when all the regulars are back from injury.. The Nash trade might end up being one of Howson's all-time best if the received players continue to impress next season.. and beyond.

Erixon's +/- is impressive.

He isn't anonymous. He is Tim Erixon, and that qualifies him as an unbiased commentator on Tim Erixon.

tim erixon who are you? Are you the brother of the actual player or something? I mean you have been right, Tim Erixon has been great lately. But you must have been watching him really closely for a while to notice his break out before the rest of us.

Would Howson have traded Rick Nash for that package if Nash didn't demand it? You all know the answer to that one. If you want to thank anybody, thank Rick Nash.

I think the "book it" is worse. It seemed like everyone was saying that for a while. I have nothing to back up my speculation, so I'll just say "book it" and call it a day.

boy, the guy can't lose, can he? Whistle your way out of a contract you signed while saying you're doing it for the good of the team you're leaving (of which you are the captain), enjoy warm vibes when the guys coming back the other way play well. Nice work if you can get it.

It's kind of a backhanded compliment to say to him, thank you for leaving because we got good after you left.
