When the Rangers won the Stanley Cup, Greens were $23.

Just before the 04-05 Lockout, they were $40. Dolan promised that if the Rangers did not make the playoffs, prices would be reduced by 10 percent. So even though there was a season w/o hockey, he kept his word, and for the 05-06 season, greens were $36.

Here is the price breakdown by year for old 312. At some point, section 312 became a "center ice" section, and commanded an extra two or three dollars per game than end-ice 300's.

05-06 $36
06-07 $43
07-08 $49
08-09 $56
09-10 $60
10-11 $60
11-12 $63

For 12-13, my buddy and I were relocated to 222, Row 12, on the isle between 222 and 223. Price was $73.

Those seats should be available for upgrade. I recommend that anyone considering isle seats in Row 12 DO NOT TAKE THEM. They make the plexiglass obstructions in Citi-Field look great.

The photo was taken from one seat in... The aisle seat is MUCH worse. I am also 6'5", so if you are of average height, even the handrail will block a considerable amount of ice.

I am now seated elsewhere. (Can't advise of inventory available, as I did not handle our upgrade. 1979 tenure, btw.)

Cheers!
-Doug

Agreed with the comment about the aisle seats in row 12. I sit in row 12 in 223, and have sat in the aisle seat to get a look at the view from that seat. The plexiglass/railing combo is tough to watch the game through.

If I wanted to watch hockey through glass, I'd watch it at home on a nice HD Flat panel at a fraction of the cost. If my seats could not be moved, I was out. I will say that the only good thing about those aisle seats in Row 12 was the leg room, as you were just above the knuckle, and had nothing in front of you. And you can get out of there in a hurry... But no way justifies paying their asking price for that seat....

When my buddy took our rep to see the seat, she said, "Wow!" and took a picture....

Some people are obsessed with where the home team shoots twice

That's one way of putting it. It's absolutely true that center ice gives you a very nice view of both ends. But personally if I'm watching the game in person I'd prefer to have a better view of one end, while still having a decent view of the other. And considering the Rangers shoot twice (and OT/SO) on towards 8th Ave, I absolutely want to be closer to that end. Obviously it's subjective and there's no best seat for everyone.

I did not renew my seats, just got an e-mail that I can log in 7/11 to view & choose seats (2012 tenure) -- not getting my hopes up but will see what is available then.

just went got 4 tickets in a row...sec 224 row 12

That's great! Glad you were able to get what you wanted. Is there anything interesting/surprising available? Lots of row 1's still available? Anything rows 2-5 anywhere? I go tomorrow but its pretty anticlimactic as I'm 221 row 2 so there really isn't anything in the building I'd even consider an upgrade for its value besides maybe center row 2's or 3's. First time I've ever entered the process without really hoping for anything to upgrade to...

I agree with you about buyers being unaware of different seating features.
I have Row 1 Gallery seats and most buyers don't know what a great view they have and nobody is in front of you to block your view. This is a disadvantage when it comes to resale prices.

Got rid of my Gallery sec 227 row 1 seats. :handclap:
Seats are way over priced at $135 per seat to have TV against knees & glass to look thru.

Win/Win::handclap:

Moved to row 2 in 226 ----saved $35 per seat & have better view & as told by the guy behind me in row 2 last season - I will have a great view of the TV in row 1!

Best value in MSG is Row 2!!!:yo:

How did you pull that off??? Downgrade in price AND row 2's??? Can't even believe 226 row 2's were available... Where they the only row 2's?

My file was note. We were on the aisle & you have the Big Glass to look thru. It was terrible. The TV was always full of crap. We had to clean TV all the time. For the price the seats they should clean the TV screens.

They had about 10 seats in row 2 - they were gone by 9:30. My call was at 9am.

Has anyone gone yet with seats in the upper 200's. I go Friday morning, hoping to get out of 221 and move closer to center. Anything available in 222,223,224?

17 in 222, 14 in 223, 3 in 224

Row 2's in 208 (best $82), 220 (best $82), 219 + a couple of other sections behind the net; pair row 2 in 213 earlier.

Also, a few pairs of corner row 3's

I'm shocked at how many row 2's and 3's are available... Sounds like the renew rate couldn't be anywhere near what the Rangers are pushing...
