Of course I'd rather have a team than no team at all. I'd also love to be in the financial position to support the team more. That being said, the product isn't good enough for me to be higher in my hobby list. I'd rather pay for golf/other hobbies than go to a Jets game right now. If I thought the team was a realistic contender I'd be more likely to pay to go to games.

If I had endless money I'd for sure go to more games though.
Even know I still have my share partner half seasons I am in the same boat. I’d rather spend it on expensive motorcycles and insuring the bloody things. MPI Motorcycle insurance continues to be very pricy even with good driver records.

The 3 of us are considering it being our last year for the first time. Out of the six games we got I already can’t make 3 of them due to mostly Blue Bomber games including the Western Final (looks to be the same time as the Dallas home game!). It gets to the point of what is the point keeping the mini pack?

That being said I do enjoy having a team here contending than not at all.

How do season ticket numbers look?

I bought half-seasons in the lowest price category. I'm really liking the perks, contests, and ability to sell tickets on ticketmaster. I had a playoff package last year too. I used 3 tickets that cost me $55 in total after the profit I made selling 1 pair for game 2.

I think some of the player continuity has hurt the Jets. It feels like it's been the same guys year after year. However, I'd much rather have a playoff team than a rebuilding team.

So heading into the season we have our company season tickets (although I usually prefer to make those available to the team). Got my sons hockey schedule last night, and after dropping both kids schedules onto my calendar, I am shocked at how few games I can get to even if I want to.

I will use a few games of our company tickets, we are also buying about 3 nights of suite inventory for company perk parties (I was away for all three of those last year), and I have access to inventory in a friends, friends, suite and I hope to buy a few seats from him to test drive that option.

I am setting a goal to get to 10 games but I know I won’t hit it. My daughter is in grade 7 and is in both “competitive” (don’t get me started) gymnastics and just got started on her Volleyball journey this past season so dual sport. My son is in grade 11 playing on his high school hockey team so I have two seasons left before he’s in beer league and my options open up quite a bit more. Actually he will be driving later this season so that also is a game changer (according to all the parents that have gone through this stage).

Summary I “plan” to attend more games than last season but talk is cheap.

I’ve heard more from Jets ST rep(s) in the last 12 months than I have in the previous 12 years I’ve had seasons. They’re asking mostly the right questions: what can we do better (a lot), do you have a hard time moving unused tickets (yup), and on and on. No sleazy attempts at upselling to higher priced seats, which was the only reason any reps bothered to reach out to me in previous seasons.

Problem is they should have been doing this a long time ago, and treating those 13K holders and 8K waitlist members like a precious commodity.

Agreed, but like you said, TNSE has changed the way they deal with ST (I say this as a current season ticket holder, been one since 2011). At some point, there will need to be a positive response from fan base. Otherwise, the team will eventually leave, and candidly it won’t be TNSE’s fault at that point. I think things will get better, and that positive response will come in due course - I sure hope it does come.

No idea what the ticket base is going into the season. Not sure the pre season ticket sales is indicative of much… season opener and the couple games that follow will be telling.

Can't wait for the doom and gloom to begin from some posters here. For me, going to Jets games is still the most fun thing to get through the Winnipeg winter.

13th year of being a season ticker holder. Love that they are giving food/bev credit for years of service - will make the opening weekend even sloppier.

I don't think the NHL cares at all if any of their games are clashing with a CFL game. That's has to be way down the list of priorities when making the NHL schedule.
True. But the NHL works with the clubs in determining the schedule. So if there’s (for example) a scheduled concert at CLC, they won’t schedule a Jets home game that same day.

Seems to me that TNSE could have easily told the NHL they didn’t want a Jets home game conflicting with a Bombers home game. Or more accurately, x’d out their availability on those dates.

It looks foolish and a bit arrogant on their end, as they’ll be missing out on numerous potential ticket buyers by virtue of the home opener clashing with the Bombers game.

TV has a big impact especially on weekends. The Penguins/Leafs and Sens/Habs have the early HNIC slot. I'm not sure the team wants a Saturday afternoon home opener.

You also look at the opponent. Chicago is in Edmonton on Saturday night, so when do you schedule that game otherwise?

I was a ST holder since day one, We moved out of town and let our friends who had the two tix beside manage all four. Just before covid they had the chance to redo the contracts. They told the rep they would put two on hold (was an option then) and renew the other set. The rep accidentally cancelled both pairs. numerous calls and messages left and never a return call.

Now 4 years later we are in a different situation and would consider ST again as long as the reps could convince us things are different/better. It would probably be as easy as a call from a rep to discuss.
