It's funny because I still have my seasons tickets from the very beginning, but have been debating on cancelling. But one thing I always do with extra tickets is use them for raffles, if not my company reimburses me for them for people visiting.

But I have my playoff seats secure already.

There are TONS of tickets available for games 1 and 2 in Vegas. Prices start at $111.. I think USD

Don’t’t let TNSE know you are raffling off tickets. There is a pile of paperwork and hoops to jump through to do that.
Probably the largest benefit to having season tickets. Walk up prices in the POs are double what the season seat holder pays.
Where are you able to find the prices that SSH are paying per game for playoff tickets. I honestly have no clue what the price is for for each round of my tickets. I know I paid $237 a seat for additional playoff tickets that the Jets are selling to the general public for $297.

I know the total cost of playoff tickets on my invoice but not cost per ticket per round.

Expand the seating map and it lists the price for STH by round.

I've been reading through this thread to see what the locals think of this instead of the main board. I'm also from Winnipeg, but not a Jets fan. Even before reading this thread I thought TNSE hasn't done a great job, but wow.

For me personally, I'm a huge hockey fan first and love going to a game or two a year. But even if my favorite team played here, I'd still have 0 desire to be a season ticket holder. Between the dump of an arena, having to go downtown, and the overpriced concessions, I just don't get the appeal of doing it 5+ times a season (let alone for 20 or even 40 games).

I really don't understand the arena. Its in a central location? Thats about the only positive thing I can say about it. It was built on way too small of a lot for starters. Not only is it a small 15000 capacity, its cramped in there. The seats are tiny. The concourse is tiny. The parking is a nightmare. The bathrooms are tiny. Its laughable how TNSE keeps spending money on all these "upgrades" that'll never solve the real problem. Its a minor league arena no matter how many fancy TVs and fresh paint they throw on it.

I was amazed the first time I went to a game in Toronto at the ACC. I was in the nosebleeds, but the seats and legroom felt massive. Thats what a major league arena should feel like, and its even older than MTSC and also downtown.

What TNSE should've done is get a hold of some land like say what is now the Outlet Mall/Ikea. Build a real major league arena with 18000 seats. And then you could slowly surround the arena with a new entertainment district and a few hotels/condos like the area is now. Lots of parking. Put their own convention center next door. Maybe build a casino. Calgary really has it figured out with the stampede grounds. Forget about downtown altogether and build something new. But its too late now

It's been a few years since I've been to a Jets game in Winnipeg, but I happened to be in Calgary last November and caught the Jets vs Flames game at the Saddledome

Canada Life Centre game day experience leaves a lot to be desired but it's light years ahead of the Saddledome. Packed concourse, no bathrooms, and shitty techno/redneck music.

I realize that there are plenty of places better than here but it could be worse too
See I couldn't disagree more. I went to a concert and a Flames game on back to back nights for the first time a few months ago. Given the Saddledome's reputation I wasn't expecting much. But I walked in and I was shocked. The concourse felt much larger than Winnipeg, the bathrooms felt bigger, and the seats/legroom were massive as well. Sure it looks like shit, but I'd take the functionality of that arena every single time.

That is how Winnipeg created the problem in the first place. Revitalizing downtown means not fleeing to the suburbs. Everyone who is "from" Winnipeg wants to own an arce lot with a 3000 SQ foot home just outside of Winnipeg while wanting all the luxury that a city like Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver provide

Its kind of stupid to think you can flee the city and then want what those other cities have. They have people who live downtown with money.

Why would anyone want to spend their money on a downtown as shitty as Winnipeg's, when theres been 0 signs of improvement? It was a dump in the 80's when my parents moved to the city, it was a dump when the arena was being built to "revitalize" downtown, and 20 years later its still a dump.

Nobody with money is going to come downtown when its been such a lost cause.

The city isn't big enough for an 18k seat arena. They already can't fill it now and that's not because of the state of the arena or the location.

Of course if you compare the arena to a major city like Toronto, it'll look smaller.

I've been here for 90% of my nearly 30 years on this planet, but yup that's the plan. It's just tough when I'm so close with my family that lives here.

Even if 18k is excessive, they still could've done a 15k-ish arena thats not shoehorn'd onto a much too small parcel of land.

There's no reason to have small seats with no leg room and a tiny concourse. This is the big leagues

You’re entitled to your opinion, but I have to disagree with your praise of the saddeldome: the Saddledome is pretty shitty man. I used to go there regularly when I lived in Calgary. I’ve seen it many times, more than any other nhl rink in North America.

It’s simply an old building with old bones and things falling apart everywhere. There is mould throughout and in places you can’t see because of how dark it is. In some places lights don’t operate properly. They do the bare minimum to operate it. They’re trying to get a new rink so they do the bare minimum to operate.

In the saddeldome, The Nosebleeds and benches are truly the experience of a stinky unkempt armpit and are not what one would expect for a modern rink in any way.

No doubt the flames will build a beautiful new rink when that time comes, but the current rink is shit. This is not news to anyone there - born and bred Calgarians with the strongest sense of nose hill pride know it’s shit too.

Canada life centre is almost a quarter century newer and it shows - it’s a nicer quality building, has brighter lighting, has newer bones. Is it a smaller rink and a bit cramped in the upper bowl area? Yes. But it’s a nicer building overall, and a superior lower bowl experience.

Functionally it’s better? Functionally, it’s the same! It’s a rink that houses an nhl team that meets league standards

It may not be a big arena and it may not be up to your standard of an nhl rink experience, which is fine as that is an individual expectation, but Canada life centre isn’t some pos third world rink either and it is definitely not in the same tier as saddeldome. Saddeldome also has weird, and depending where you sit, terrible acoustics.

Oh don't get me wrong, the saddledome is absolutely a shithole. But walking in there it felt like a big league sized arena. I'd still much rather sit there than at CLC or whatever the abbreviation is now. You actually have some leg room there, and I'm comparing their nose bleeds to the 100's here. Being nicer, brighter, and all that is great. But it doesn't matter when its so damn small. I'm not a huge guy by any means, and I find our 100's bad enough let alone the 300's.

For me, I'm there to watch a hockey game. I don't really care about all the bells and whistles. I want an arena thats easy to get to with decent parking, and comfortable seats. The dusty old saddledome has it and CLC doesn't. No amount of fresh paint and cool lights can make up for that.

FWIW I didn't find the acoustics bad for the concert I was at, and again I was in the upper deck/bowl whatever you wanna call it.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the market but...If it's true 85 percent of season ticket base are/were fans, it means businesses were largely locked out during the inaugural ticket drive. If so, shouldn't 3000 season tickets be easily achievable using the untapped business market? Or am I misreading the situation? I think I heard the reverse is true in Toronto with about 80ish percent being corporate. Jets I would think ,wouldn't even need to be close to that ratio to close the gap on the available season tickets.
I'm admittedly no business economics expert so maybe Im out to lunch .
