I’ve always wondered what happens if Marque Moon catches on radio instead of Psycho Killer.

the song? waayy too long for radio. they would never allow it

and if it ever did get on it would probably be some horrible radio edit that always butchers songs to make them 3.5 minutes long

see... doors light my fire, blue rodeo diamond mine...both cut out extensive solos that really make the songs

AOR format on WNEW back then might have allowed something about 7 minutes long. Maybe they could do a decent edit to that length. It was just a near miss for them. Granted we don’t know if Verlaine would have developed as a writer the way Byrne did but the early Television and early Heads were similar to the locals.

I was too young to have been at the shows back then. I was exposed to it as a little kid but it was during the 1980s I was able to start going to shows and heard the stories second hand. There was a record store in Hartsdale NY that sold bootlegs but they were generally very expensive and the quality was awful . Television was always bubbling just under the surface in NY and the more underground kids preferred them and the Moden Lovers to the Heads. I was more of a hard rock guy at that age but came to enjoy the new wave post punk stuff over thr years.

Edit: Blondie was also much more important as an influence then their top 40 history as a pop band might suggest.

Are there people here who are watching the last of us? Third episode is good. Maybe too naive and melodramatic, but good. I rarely like TV shows lately, but the last of us is working well.

It’s been pretty good but I watch a fair number of zombie apocalypse stuff so to me it has elements of other things. Let’s not forget the walking dead started off well before it started going in circles .

I like zombie thematics but I can`t watch more than 4 seasons of walking dead. I like more road movie style\western\survive things with simplier concept, walking dead is more about post apocalyptic politics. Btw earlier comix of walking dead were smaller part of reasons why I started to draw.

The reality is the themes eventually start to overlap. Unless you want to introduce aliens or get things back to normal despite the zombies things like securing food and fighting off thr human evil doers and whether to let new people in happen over and over.

Yeah, reason why I like more simplier concepts and working more with action, camera and directing. You can use new situations like makers in South Korea did with train. New context, new decoration. Some good situation ideas were in korean tv show about zombies in school All of Us Are Dead. Simple concept, nothing seriously new in script, but they create some interesting action scenes, using new devices in fresh context.
I like first season Korean tv show Kingdom too. (a lot of korean examples).

I like the Game btw. Last of us is a great example of action adventure with good gameplay and how the story tells by the video game.

Kingdom was very good. I enjoyed Train to Busan.

I feel like we aren’t going to get an extended run of this series unless they plan on going beyond the games. They’ve already said season 2 would adapt the 2nd game (which I haven’t played), so that means a potential season 3 would be after the 2nd game.
