I thought Ozzy’s first solo album was great. Randy Rhoads was very talented. The songs were fun and Crazy Train remains a well known song that even young people know and can sing along to.
It's whatever to me. The bass line is kind of cool and the guitar solo is cool, but I still don't care for it.

There's a lot of music from around that time period that I didn't like as a kid, but now either do like or just appreciate a little bit and Ozzy's solo stuff is not something I've grown to like more with age. I didn't like AC/DC much at all as a teen/20-something and now I dig them. I think I liked them in my younger years like ages 5-12 a little bit, but couldn't stand them at all after that, until I was in my probably later 20's, if not early 30's. I did not like Iron Maiden when I was younger at all. I don't even think I started listening to them until I was in my late 20's and I quickly turned to ''Wow! This is some of the best shit ever! What the hell was wrong with me?''. I was not a Beatles fan at all as a kid (Helter Skelter was always a song I loved though) and you'll be happy to know that I now don't mind them one bit.

I just can't do solo Ozzy.
Fan fact Mr Crowley is more popular here between Rock heads.
If there was one song I had to pick out of his post-Sabbath catalogue I think it would be this one. At least out of all the hits. There may be some deep cuts I'd be into.

I also have a soft spot for this song as I remember mishearing it as ''Mr. Trolley'' when I was a kid. Even after finding out it was Mr. Crowley, I continued to call it Mr. Trolley.

When I was a kid, I heard the song of Linkin Park "in the end", but misheard it. As "Disneyland". (I didn't learn English in that time). Can't understand in the moment why this guys sing about Disneyland, but in so sad and drammatic shades.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with American geography but there is a part of NY City called "the Bronx". It is the area north of the Island of Manhattan on a map. Years ago there was a rock radio station called WPLJ. It was where Mark Goodman worked before MTV if you recall him from that. I don't recall the year the song came out but the The Who released an album with "Eminence Front" as a single. In any event, once in a while WPLJ would take a call from the listening audience and if you chose a song that was in their rotation they'd let you ask for it on the air as if it was some sort of spontaneous thing. I was relatively young and got on once when I got through on the phone and asked the DJ what the next few songs were going to be. I picked the one I liked best and he let me ask for it on the air. So, this guy calls up and asks them to play "Living in the Bronx" by the Who. The DJ was stumped. What did he mean? So the guy sang "Living in the Bronx....Living in the Bronx it's a put on" to the cadence of Eminence Front. It was really funny. have to believe the DJ knew what he was doing and sort of set the guy up for a laugh.

My other favorite misheard lyrics are a friend who thought the words at the beginning of Sting's "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free" which repeat "free free set them free" was actually "FiFi set them free" and he thought Sting was singing about a poodle setting dogs free in a shelter. I still can't figure that one out.

fun storie. I tried to make calls on music shows to make an order, but I never got through. How much the perception of music has changed. It's not the same with the Internet when a particular song is playing somewhere at a particular moment somewhere.
You would be surprise, but i`m familiar with part of local geography) at least with boroughs. And Brighton beach of course.

of course, that makes sense and I should have realized that. I'm sure a number of folks you know from back home have made the journey to Brighton Beach. Is that really a draw for players to play for the NYR? I have a feeling that is exaggerated.

New York has great PR. Like nothing in the world. And in general it is a very big city. People who strive for something new tend to strive for something more. I think this is generally a trait of people coming from Europe. Most of them have no particular interest in going to the American outback\village\small towns. There is a lot of interesting things here, while the history of European cities is much more and deeper. But New York - big city, bright and attractive. Yes - this is interesting to certain people with a certain mindset, certain interests and priorities. But there are many such people, and there are many such people among those who move to new countries. Or even move to NY as American citizen. I think there are no big differences depending on citizenship.

Watching the WTC film with Nicolas Cage for the first time.

As much as I remember this being all over the news. Man…. Harrowing to say the least.

We stand in solidarity.

Will I get in trouble if I talk about throwing Molotovs through neighbors windows?

Some of the most obnoxious people now live in my neighborhood. People that decide at 10:59 at night that they want to start playing music. It’s not like they’ve been playing it all night, but randomly at 10:59 they have to turn it on. It’s really loud and vibrating all through here. I don’t even know exactly what house it’s coming from but it’s so loud that it’s gotta be giving the people playing it tinnitus if it’s being played from a confined space. I’m sure it will be playing for quite a few hours. I was hoping it was just a car idling with the music cranking, but that’s clearly not it.

And then the people who shot off fireworks at least once every hour on New Years until 4:00 AM.

And then the f***ers that put their flashers on through my bedroom window at 3:00 AM when they were moving in. I don’t think those people really meant to be obnoxious.

Im going through my Hughes and Bratt hockey card collection.
Im so glad I bought Bratt when he was very inexpensive . It’s like playif the stock market.
I have his Jersey number #63/299 Upper Deck the Cup , rookie patch auto card , three color patch . More or less THE very best possible true rookie card for Bratt.
The only one I’d might consider being as good is if his Youngpuns High Gloss /10 was graded a BGS 10 Blacklabel pristine … which is very very very unlikely to exist considering maybe only a dozen black label BGS 10 card of the normal variety exist, let alone his High Gloss version out of 10 made/ printed.
I have no real comparisons to base it off of to know what it’s worth .

Was upstate NY for the weekend. Coming back to NYC on a bus from Syracuse. Had to switch coaches in Binghampton. Binghampton has got to be the most depressing-looking city I've seen in the USA sofar. Syracuse didnt look that great either but had a good bar scene.

And their football team stinks. Got totally pwned by Florida State. 1st college football game i saw live.

It's too bad you didn't have an opportunity to catch the Penn State game.
