Your first mistake was becoming a knicks fan! The rangers of the NBA.

You should be a nets fan like me and just stop caring about bball until they make the playoffs again lol.

Hehe i hear you, i just like MSG atmosphere and obviously cant stand the Rags so the Knicks havr been the reason to visit. I like it how it is such a NY thing. A bit of balance with Devils season tickets.

Im fully on board the "there is only one basketball team in NYC" train haha

I'm always happy to see anything that James Dolan owns lose. He's an absolute low life scum bag. MSG is the most overated arena in the entire world and I'm always happy to see any fans that see games there go home miserable. Can't stand any teams wearing blue. f*** em all.

they don't give you a hard time when you drive your Cadillac Eldorado into the garden and block the view of the person behind you with your 10 gallon hat?

this has me really confused as to why bon jovi would thank these guys on the slippery when wet album. what the hell?

Bon Jovi was a fan apparently: (from Google) Bon Jovi included a thank you to the Minutemen on their album "Slippery When Wet" in 1986 as a way to acknowledge their influence on the band's music and their appreciation for the Los Angeles punk rock scene. Bon Jovi was a fan of the Minutemen, and their style of fast, energetic, and politically charged music resonated with him.

thanks, always learning something

My office is near so many venues that play live music, but I'm too busy in my personal life to watch a show. Rock music is very much still alive, but you have to venture out into the real world in order to find new bands. You're definitely not going to find them on the radio and people who write about music seem to overlook them.

I've found that seeing a band, following them on Instagram, and then following other bands that they promote in their IG stories is a good way to find new music.

It's a young person's game for sure. In Brooklyn, the people who were going to shows 10-15 years ago in Williamsburg, Bushwick, etc. have moved to neighborhoods to the south and are parents today. It's pretty easy to tell which ones did that. They don't have time for the bands today. It was kind of lucky that my wife and I went to one a couple of years ago that got me back into following the scene here.

Almost 20 years ago, I quit Magic the Gathering. On top of being in college and not seeing too many people there who were interested, it was just way too expensive to keep up. The sore point was spending well over $100, sometimes over $200 for a mana base.

Somehow, they managed to make it so, so much worse in recent years on the affordability front. For starters, they're putting crossover IP sets in the most prominent tournament format. And yes, there are IPs from outside of MTG now, and there has been for years (Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, others that I'm forgetting). It's extremely stupid and has been called out many times over the years, but it makes Hasbro lots of money, so it ain't going anywhere. The inaugural Standard-legal crossover set is Final Fantasy and there are certain products that cost more than a PS5. A YouTube channel that I subscribe to usually does giveaways for products in the most recent set, but it's so ridiculous that he'll give winners the choice of a collector booster box (not sure what those are but I think they guarantee certain rarities and foil cards in 12 packs of 12 cards) or a PS5.

Plus, because of digital IP rights, the Marvel sets (so far, just Spider-Man has been announced, but there are going to be more) have to be completely different when playing MTG Online. I guess Disney doesn't want people to play something besides Marvel Snap online. The other announced crossover is Avatar: The Last Airbender. I'll admit that it's kind of cool to see what ideas they put from a different IP into cards, but I made up cards like that when I was a teenager.

You were in college 20 years ago? Did you take notes with vellum and quill? Were the teachers still wearing powdered wigs? How has the world changed in that vast gulf of time? Do you remember when everyone rode donkeys and antelopes instead of driving cars?
