Sometimes I think Rossman gets rambly or is off base, but man, sometimes he hits the nail right on the head:

I don't know who this guy is but I watched the whole thing. This is a very dangerous thought process he's walking down.

Essentially giving a nod to violence because a business isn't doing it "the right way"? Problem is morality can and does change like the wind.

How about don't use the product? How about use the competitor or find an alternative? Or even go without.

But this grievance culture is just a dangerous slippery slope...can I shoot the farmer when eggs cost too much? Who is the arbiter of this "fairness"...is he the decider of righteousness for Roku's contract? A normal person might just look at fire stick instead of Roku but this dude wants righteous indignation...

what happens when our morality conflicts? Do we meet at the OK Corral to settle it?

None of this nonsense is how proper society should work.

Speaking of aging, I looked at a picture of myself from three years ago, and I had a small internal crisis because I looked so much younger than I do now. Not so much because of the beard, but my face just made me look younger than a 35-year-old. I'm pretty sure being a foster parent has made me look more my age. My wife watches that guy Danny Gonzalez on YouTube, and he's the same way. I used to marvel at how much of a baby face he had, like he was fresh out of high school. Then his wife had a baby and he immediately looked like he aged 20 years, complete with some gray hair.
It's funny, I was clean shaven most of my life up until like my mid 30's. Since I've grown a beard I look back on old pictures and I'm like "Who is that kid and why is his face so fat?!".

Not that I'm actually any thinner (in fact I'm probably up 20 pounds from a decade ago) but the beard helps. Although now instead of shaving my face I just shave my head because I gave up on my rapidly receding hairline years ago. It is kind of annoying the amount of white hairs showing up in my beard these days though. It's gonna be straight up ginger and salt in a few years.

That's what he's saying. That it shouldn't work that way. That it's absolutely not the right way to go about it. And that he absolutely doesn't support it. He does mention not using the products, finding alternatives, etc. He references a lot of other videos where he has advocated for that. But this is the path people have chosen as a result of what these companies are doing and have been doing with absolutely no repercussions. They are screwing people day after day and literally never have to answer for it. He's just suggesting they don't screw people if they don't want them to take this course of action.

I do agree that the part about small businesses having motivation not to screw people because they are afraid of violent retribution is off base. As I mentioned, sometimes (or many times) he is off base. But the gist of that video is don't absolutely screw people over and over and over and then expect absolutely no accountability. Our government has completely failed to hold them accountable and now people (by the wrong means, as he points out) are holding them accountable.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of Rossman. Sometimes he's borderline unhinged. But it's just the basic premise of this video that I think is nail on the head. Don't screw people over and over and expect to face no accountability forever.

I'm not watching the video and never heard of this guy before either but is he mainly talking health care because of the CEO being killed?

Health care is an absolute embarrassing joke in our country and I have no idea why people no matter what color team you root for can't agree on this subject and fix it.

I haven’t heard of half of these pizza chains, least of all the biggest chain in the country. People outside of the northeast live like barbarians.

I'm not even remotely a food snob except for pizza. I'd rather not eat than eat at any of these places.

I'm always shocked when I see people eating pizza at games when it's like $10+ for an awful disgusting looking slice.

He's actually talking about a train maker that remotely shut down a train and caused it to derail because the owner did not have it serviced at the OEM and instead took it to a third party repair service. Rossman is a HUGE advocate for right to repair. But they make light of the CEO situation by saying "delay, deflect, derail" in relation to the train OEM. And everyone cheered and laughed. Rossman's point was, that's wrong. People should cringe a bit at that, at least, if not fully boo, as someone died. But they didn't. They all cheered. And he's saying, while he doesn't agree with it, this is how people think. They are so fed up with being screwed by companies that they are losing their humanity when it comes to empathy for the members of these corporate machines. And they are starting to resort to violent action. And that these companies dug their own grave here and should stop screwing people over if they don't want it to continue.

One thing that does resonate with me is Rossman's assertion that we should be paying for innovation. But these companies are not innovating. Like BMW charging a subscription fee for things like heated seats. This is not innovation. It's just screwing the consumer.

Couldn't even make it a few hours into the new year without having a horrific preventable mass casualty event. Something something thoughts and prayers and New Orleans strong.

So tired of it, hopefully future generations of leaders will finally wake up and do better than we are.

Still no word on why that moron decided to do that.

I read that apparently the city was in the process of replacing the bollards that would have at least stopped the truck from getting in there at such a high rate of speed.

Just so sad and avoidable. People just out having fun and enjoying the new year parties with friends and families and have already had their entire lives shattered on Jan 1st.

I know not everything can be prevented but I'll still never get over how Sandy Hook wasn't the major event that changed our country as a whole for the better.

The city is redoing all the roads there and my guess is has not gotten finished. Nobody here thinks about events of this nature. It’s so foreign to how the city views itself.

Is the city on lockdown?
I saw a press conference where a police representative came up to the mic after an FBI person and made sure to tell everyone to have fun the rest of this week and to be sure to spend their tourist money. So no… they are not on lockdown besides the streets that were involved.

They delayed the Sugar Bowl until tomorrow and are issuing all sorts of warnings.

And the cruel irony of probabilities rears its very ugly head. It wasn’t just tourists killed in what is currently viewed as an act of terrosrism. A friend of my oldest was apparently one of the victims. Not a best friend but they had known each other since 8th grade and played with and against each other in high school sports and maintained contact with each other since then. I know my son was fond of him. A boy I met a few times and who was always a kind and light hearted soul. My son is understandably really shaken. Just awful.

I have a good friend that lives there that I haven't been able reach . I'm not worried or anything... he's always busy and tough to reach in general and would have never been anywhere near Bourbon St or the French Quarter...but the delay of bowl game seems like there is something more going on.

FBI said they are checking the area for potential bombs so definitely why the game was delayed which was the right call either way to make sure everything is super secure...

"Weapons and a potential IED were located in the subject’s vehicle. Other potential IEDs were also located in the French Quarter. The FBI’s special agent bomb technicians are working with our law enforcement partners to determine if any of these devices are viable, and they will work to render those devices safe. "

That's horrible, really sorry to hear that.
