Ended up getting 14" of snow. My neighborhood doesn't get plowed by the city so unless you got a 4WD truck with some ground clearance... good luck. Me and a few guys in the neighborhood helped a bunch of people get unstuck yesterday.

I was going to go for a walk in the woods today. Fresh snow is so much fun to see all the animal track... it's amazing to see how many different animals that live in a small wood lot of just a few acres.

But it's 28 degrees with 40 mph gust right now, so this nice warm spot on the couch will do just fine today.

I do like getting any snow, but it'd be nice to get more than a dusting in NYC. I think it's scientifically proven that it's a couple degrees hotter than the surrounding area.

Humans do have hibernation instincts, even without the history of actually hibernating. The brain send signals to eat more when the weather is cold. It also can be related to “winter depression”.

I've got the daytime settings on desktop. Because I use nighttime settings for my phone, the forums default to nighttime layout there. Gonna have to change that.

I’m trying to switch to dark mode on my phone, and it’s not taking when I set it in the preferences menu. No idea what I’m doing wrong.

Tech has spent the last five or so years going exclusively in the direction of getting worse so that they can keep you on their platform for longer so that they can get more money. It's the basis of what some tech industry podcaster calls "the rot economy."

How did you activate dark mode?

I went and changed the style in my preferences to dark and it's still light as fk.
