The older I get the worse winter gets. I used to be just fine with a hoodie and jeans in the winter, never really gave it much thought. The last few days here in NJ have had me thinking relocating wouldn't be so bad.Warming up inside after freezing outside is what I imagine being a lizard is like. Or a cat basking in the sun.
I'd rather be cold in the Mid-Atlantic than hot in Texas or Florida, especially with that humidity. And that's not getting into the people.... At least layers exist for the cold. Winter is undoubtedly worse for my wife than the summer because it makes her arthritis act up and gets her more tired. The older I get the worse winter gets. I’ve been to a couple of beaches in Mexico and some of thr beaches on the panhandle are right there as well. It’s nice to be able to go to a beach from April to late in October.I'd rather be cold in the Mid-Atlantic than hot in Texas or Florida, especially with that humidity. I will say though, when I went to my wife's home city in Mexico, I can see the appeal. First of all, it's cheaper there. I can sell my place in Brooklyn and have more than enough to buy a condo there. And the beaches are so much better than anywhere in this country. I went into the water when most of the natives won't bother going in, and it was the warmest beach water I've experienced.
Is she from somewhere on the Yucatan peninsula?I'd rather be cold in the Mid-Atlantic than hot in Texas or Florida, especially with that humidity. And that's not getting into the people.... Sinaloa, specifically Mazatlan. Yes, she pointed out the hotel where El Chapo got arrested in.Is she from somewhere on the Yucatan peninsula?
I'm in love with that place... Campeche, Holbox, Merida...15 years ago Tulum. It's kind of a shame what happened to Tulum. It was always touristy but it got absurd in the last bunch of years.
But there's a little fishing village south of Tulum that I have spent a lot of time in and that I just love. Punta Allen...place is amazing.
I would live there in a second.
I mean you don't have to go directly to hell (TX, FLA) somewhere with a milder winter like the Carolinas sounds appealing sometimes. I enjoy all four seasons, I love one good snow storm a year, but I hate that cold you get where it takes forever to warm up and it makes your body sore.I'd rather be cold in the Mid-Atlantic than hot in Texas or Florida, especially with that humidity. I’m curious to your “and that’s not getting into the people” comment. I lived basically my whole childhood in Jersey and now about the same time in Florida. Can you elaborate on your comment? Or am I … one of those people?I'd rather be cold in the Mid-Atlantic than hot in Texas or Florida, especially with that humidity. And that's not getting into the people.... I’m happy to buy you lunch or dinner when you are in New Orleans.I only have one state missing from the continental US list and that's Mississippi. I'm planning on rectifying that this year with a road trip from the Pan handle of Florida to New Orleans. Just working on the timing... hopefully it works out, I've been wanting to do this for a while.
I know that I have said this here before but I have to say it again, I absolutely love the people of this country and have really never had a bad experience with anyone...at least not when alcohol wasn't involved
I have driven and had extended stays just about everywhere. Most of the time I am in more rural places. Usually looking for outdoor activities...so a lot of the time I meet people with a shared interest or just wanting to know why someone would drive a thousand miles to catch a fish
I've found if you meet anyone anywhere without preconceived notions and total respect it will come back to you 10 fold. This philosophy hasn't let me down yet and I hope it never does.
One of my friends sent me a pair of Devils panties for Christmas.
Anyone want them?
Yeah but they didn’t chafe me that bad.that depends. have they been worn?
