The older I get the worse winter gets. I used to be just fine with a hoodie and jeans in the winter, never really gave it much thought. The last few days here in NJ have had me thinking relocating wouldn't be so bad.

I'd rather be cold in the Mid-Atlantic than hot in Texas or Florida, especially with that humidity. And that's not getting into the people.... At least layers exist for the cold. Winter is undoubtedly worse for my wife than the summer because it makes her arthritis act up and gets her more tired.

I will say though, when I went to my wife's home city in Mexico, I can see the appeal. First of all, it's cheaper there. I can sell my place in Brooklyn and have more than enough to buy a condo there. And the beaches are so much better than anywhere in this country. I went into the water when most of the natives won't bother going in, and it was the warmest beach water I've experienced.

I’ve been to a couple of beaches in Mexico and some of thr beaches on the panhandle are right there as well. It’s nice to be able to go to a beach from April to late in October.

I'm in love with that place... Campeche, Holbox, Merida...15 years ago Tulum. It's kind of a shame what happened to Tulum. It was always touristy but it got absurd in the last bunch of years.

But there's a little fishing village south of Tulum that I have spent a lot of time in and that I just love. Punta Allen...place is amazing.

I would live there in a second.

My wife's family has all made their way down to the Carolinas and Georgia. Not a fan of the heat there in the summers, but the NJ winters are starting to wear on me a bit. I do enjoy the past few days though - having snow on the ground (particularly when I didn't have to shovel or snowblow any of it) plus some fires going at night, particularly as Christmas approaches. But as we get into February, NJ winters start getting old.

No idea if we'll eventually leave NJ, though more open to it than I was in the past. Most of my family is still in the area, but ultimately it largely depends on where my kids wind up. Fortunately still have some time on that as they're both still in their early/mid teens.

These past few winters have been super mild. We barely had any snow and for the most part it never got that cold. Sure today it's a cold day but it's warming up again later in the week.

I'd sooner move north to Vermont than I would ever go to hell on earth Florida where I start sweating as soon as I get off the plane lol

I mean you don't have to go directly to hell (TX, FLA) somewhere with a milder winter like the Carolinas sounds appealing sometimes. I enjoy all four seasons, I love one good snow storm a year, but I hate that cold you get where it takes forever to warm up and it makes your body sore.

Only come to Florida if you’re a snowbird and can stay somewhere else for the summer or if you’re a nomad.

It’s starting to wear on me during the summer. Hopefully I can go on vacation again for a couple of weeks like I did this year at the most miserable time of the year.

And if you have dogs you don’t want them here for the 4th of July. You really don’t want them here for New Year’s Eve and day either.

I've spent a few of my birthdays in July in the Keys. Being on the water with an ocean breeze makes a world of difference.

Middle of July last year I fished South West Florida around Marco and Naples...no problem with the heat. Wade fished for hours in the morning and afternoons.

I couldn't imagine being inland when it's 90+ degrees and 90+% humidity...but on the water, it's really nice.

It's never too hot when you're doing this...in fact, I have had to put on a puffy jacket on more than a few occasions with cool mornings and running 40+ mph on open water.
