Appendix?
Gallbladder. I’ve had a kidney stone before and that was the worst pain I’ve had in my life. Gallbladder takes the cake though.

That sucks. Hope it's nothing too serious and you recover soon.

After all, we don't want this to derail your development as a prospect. :sarcasm:
I might not be able to skate for a couple of weeks. McDermid might have to play in the games I come back in to make sure no one tries to take a cheap shot at me.

Hopefully the surgery is routine and the recovery fast. Be well and hang in there.

It’s been an eventful week.

Evacuated for the first time in my life due to a hurricane. On the 11 hour ride home Saturday I started having excruciating pain. Wouldn’t go away, so I ended up going to the emergency room. Now I sit, waiting for surgery.
Sorry to hear. Hope all went well with the surgery! I'm assuming it's happened by now.

Everything went well. I am now Gallbladderless. Apparently the Dr told my wife that from what he saw I must’ve been in some really really bad pain. My Gallbladder was shutting down and it was clogging up my system. Instead of going home tonight I have to wait a day or 2 now so they can keep an eye on me and check drainage. Thank you for the well wishes.

Thank you Bleed. When I got out of surgery and fell asleep for an hour in my room, the first thing I did was check the Devils score

Good to hear you are on the mend. Get well fast and get home.

Back home and settled in. I gotta go to work tomorrow. I never did unload the car of the important things I brought and got out of the house. They stayed in the back the entire time I was away.

I'll have some company for a few weeks. My friends will be staying with me. They had some damage from both Helene and mostly from Milton. Their house isn't unlivable or anything, but they need a few things done over there. They've been here a couple days now. I think the power came back on Monday.

The yard is a bit of a mess.

She RAN into the house. She even jumped into the car as quick as she could when we were leaving. Even though I think she was fine where we were staying, she likes our own house.

And she got really excited when we pulled into the neighborhood. She knows where home is.

That’s one of the reasons why I would probably decide against a move, as sick as I am of the hurricanes, the insufferable summers, 10 inches of rain per month for 6 months out of the year, etc.

I will say, it was a bit difficult to drive with her. She’s never taken this long of a ride and when we go places I usually have to hold her while someone else drives.

And I don’t like her being in the front seat either. The airbags would probably kill her if they went off. A minor accident could turn tragic if the airbag goes off over a minor collision. So I try to make her stay in the back seat in her little bed that she likes when I’m driving.

Try it sometime with two Goldens. Nothing beats a 70 pound dog getting whiny in the car so she has to crawl all over you.

We had a German Shepherd that was like that. Biggest baby of a dog I've ever seen. I swear he thought he was a lap dog. Which made it even funnier considering we also had two little terriers that thought they were big dogs and would not back down from anything.

In exciting news from 1994, Jeremy Roenick was on my flight from Vegas to San Diego.

I was in Vegas for my dad's birthday. He's always wanted to see the Grand Canyon, so we booked a bus tour which I wasn't looking forward to due to them picking us up at the hotel before 6am. Then my dad proceeded to book for the South rim (an extra 3 hours). Knowing my dad, I figured he'd take ten minutes of photos and would be bored.

Things didn't get off to a great start. We were told that the bus pickup would be at 5:45am. I woke up at 5am and hopped in the shower. Then I could hear my phone ring and it was my dad frantically telling me to get down because the buses were loading up and getting ready to leave. I grabbed my backpack and ran out of the room, unfortunately I forgot my phone charger and room key in the process.

I get down to the pickup and the buses there were for a different Grand Canyon tour and our bus hadn't shown up yet. We didn't get into the actual park until around 2pm and it felt like it took 30 minutes for people to take pictures of the Grand Canyon sign instead of walking five minutes to see the actual thing. As expected my dad was over it pretty quickly. Not sure if he was expecting fireworks or to see two bald eagles fighting.

By 4:30pm we were back on the bus. We stopped for dinner around 9pm at a town ~40 minutes away from Vegas. Somebody on the bus was so fed up that they ordered an Uber. We got dropped off a little before 11pm.

With a full night of rest, we were able to joke about it the next day. But it was pretty miserable being trapped on the bus. The guide put on Paul Blart: Mallcop on the way back. I joked that I'm not sure if we spent more time actually at the Grand Canyon vs. watching that movie.
