When they can't - because it is not possible for 2 wingers, no matter how good to drag a team with no top 6 centers to respectability - when they can't, you will absolutely blame Kyrou without any blame for Buchnevich. He's too streaky, he's a perimiter player, Tkachuk could carry a line with kindergartners by himself cause he's sooo tough.

Absolutely not. He didn't look like an NHL center in the preseason and my limited viewings of training camp. He was sent to the AHL because he wasn't ready, not because we just had too much center talent to fit an NHL-ready prospect onto the NHL team.

His medium-and-long-term development is too important to the organization to make any decision about him based on anything but his actual readiness. Any and all other options to fill 4 NHL center spots should be explored before putting him into a situation that isn't best for his development.

1000%. Only way Dvorsky should be called up is if the org think he is ready and that it would be in the best interest of his long term career development to play in the NHL right now. Currently it seems pretty clear that is not that case.

I think “Out 6 weeks” is disingenuous. He’ll be reevaluated then per the original tweet. Will probably be closer to 8-10 weeks before he’s in game shape and back in the lineup.
