There's a lot of posters here honestly who haven't seen a good goalie in so long they don't even know what one would look like. Talbot was a tiny window, Roloson is like almost 20 years ago a lot of these posters were kids when that happened or don't remember it at all.

In general the Oilers haven't really had a franchise goalie in like ... shit ... 30+ years? Curtis Joesph was probably honestly the last one.

That's 19 years ago, a lot of people here were either kids and didn't know what the f*** they were watching so they don't have an appreciation of that or they missed that entirely. Even if you weren't a kid, that's a long time ago, the memory dulls.

That I get ... there hasn't been a great goalie here in so long, most people don't even know what that would look like. They think this dog shit is some how pretty good. The media too.

Lol, NBA GM’s make another blockbuster of a century trading Doncic for AD. Lakers literally have a top 5 player in the world locked in for awhile even after LeBron retires.
Meanwhile our front office is apparently content running the same leaky ass goaltending duo again for the post season.

Most of the f***ing stat line has shown this team is good in all areas EXCEPT goaltending. Improve the net with a 1B like Gibson or Vejmelka. Send Dustin useless Schwartz to the moon while they’re at it. I’ve had enough watching the team play, dominate, and lose due to having the second best goalie on a basis. Two losses to teams we should’ve won if not for sieve Skinner. Making it extra harder to jump further ahead of VGK in the standings for 1st in the division with this clown in net.

Also hilarious how the moronic media here say nothing about him. Only if he was a European goalie named Stuko Skinninen would they then proceed to make any criticism. Trade for a 1B already. Skinner can continue to yap about his YouTube, podcast, books, hippie guru lifestyle for all I f***ing care. The oilers won’t win a Stanley cup with him as the #1 goalie.

Honestly think it might be better to not even win the division even though that may bite us in the ass later on.

A 1st round against like Colorado or Minnesota wouldn't be much of a "reward".

Here’s the thing though do you know rare it is for McDavid to 2 consecutive games pointless? The only time it happened was games 6 and 7 of the Stanley cup final. I just can’t really make any other excuses for why he doesn’t have a cup. A cup was right there all he had to do was reach out and take it and he responded with his first two consecutive pointless games.

Skinner on the other hand let in 3 total goals between games 6 and 7 of the Stanley cup final but we can’t win with him. Not possible.

We'd probably have 2 Cups with a Roloson tier goalie, it's not like Roloson was a freaking Hasek, Vezina winner, but he was a legit guy who could put a team on his back and win a playoff game (or even series).

Apparently though it's "impossible" to find someone like that (you want to talk about "excuses") though.

I disagree this team would win the cup if it had home ice in every series last year. Win the whole conference and play Calgary or van or whoever squeaks in.

Asses will be bit regardless with this clown in net. Mediocre in the kings series. Almost cost the team in the nucks series, and was absolute ass in the finals. Can’t afford that shit again this postseason
 
We all complain, and yes, we need to be patient, etc.

It's all about standards. Never keep your standards low. I don't see Stu taking us anywhere (if the team doesn't perform). He is more of a product of the team.

If they replayed that game 7 again today they would probably lose again. Bob would be the difference again. They have better multi-line depth as well so their odds of hitting a jackpot on Skinner and getting him to crack first are better, with our squad lets face it, the Skinner/Arvidsson adds haven't moved the needle at all.

Bob is a weird guy, he slacks for periods clearly, but in big games he goes from crap to Hasek tier at the snap of a finger.

That's just where having a high talent roof is such a big asset for a goalie, they can go from shit to out of this world very quick. Skinner is the opposite, very low talent roof.

That’s the annoying thing with Skinner. The definition of Jekyll and Hyde.
When he plays good, he’s solid.
When he plays bad? It gets even worse.
There’s just no consistency with him in net.

Bowman feel free to pull a Lowe. Markannen and Conklin sucks? Bring in Rolly.

Skinner and Pickard sucks? Bring in vejmelka or Gibson.
