Post-Game Talk: This team has a problem in net

This team has a problem with the management not calling out this horseshit reffing. How did they suddenly lose a delayed penalty because of a called back goal? You can literally score a goal that isn't called a goal on the ice skate up the ice get a delayed penalty call on yourself while the horn whistles cause they reviewed said goal to determine it was a goal and still give the player the penalty that happened after the goal was scored.
How the f did Toronto not get a penalty even after the ref raised his hand. If your going to call a goal back, you should be calling a penalty too. Wtf kind of loophole fd up garbage minor league shit is that ? Clown league .

he was 7-1 in elimination games (Games 5, 6 and 7) and gave up a grand total of 14 goals for 1.75 goals/game
yup..."2 good games"

Then why do the Stu Stans always quote the same two games like you just did? If there were more actual numbers, they would quote those. And to that point…

Game 4 is also a potential elimination game in any given series, why ignore that one? Oh right, because you need to cherry pick to make Stu look better.

We know that Skinner was 0.901 the entire playoffs. No selective nonsense required. No team can possibly win a Cup in today’s game with that stat line.

And yet they almost did. But alas management thinks he’s fine and surely they know better than us.

Yeah the geniuses that have 0 Cups to show for a decade of McDavid probably know best.

Besides, we only spent 2.6 million on goaltending, so a Western Conference champions banner is basically like a Cup, amirite? They spent 10 mill on their goalie, talk about trying way too hard.

in the only Game 4 "elimination game" the Oilers played, Skinner gave up 1 goal and had a .970 Save %

but again...."no way we can win with him" am I right?

I can't believe people are still defending Skinner. At this point you can't take CantHaveTkachevs opinions on hockey seriously. He's obviously bought and paid for by the Skinner-Schwartz foundation and corrupt beyond belief.
No doubt, nonsensical waste of time

The team structure shut down opponent's, like that Vancouver game 7, they didn't have shit going for 95% of the game, it was a defensive master class until McLeod decided to be a dummy and just pass the puck to them and of course one mistake made in almost 55 minutes of play is an auto-goal. Then they score again, the only reason those PDO luck morons didn't tie it is because the game wasn't about 10 seconds longer.

You can't really ask for a better defensive effort than that. He was good in the Dallas series which is basically his only remarkable playoff round out of like 6 playoff series'. So bravo to that I guess.

He looked good. Still some sketchy moments where his timing is off and what not but he was making plays and for the most part wasn’t noticeable defensively.

Anytime a defenseman is not noticed means they're doing something right. Glad to hear he was subtle on that end of the ice. That's about all someone can ask for 2 games in after hip surgery.

ok, so they still won with him in net....another goalie would win those games "better" or something?

This is incredible stuff, so you’re saying the Oilers never played a Game 4 in any of their other three series? The Skinner delusion is strong, but I didn’t know it eliminated entire days of human history.

0.901. I’m not going to stop quoting that number since no selective cherry picking can counter it, and the best disinfectant is sunlight.

I don't think the team actually has beat anyone in the playoff round where the opposing goalie had a .910 or better save percentage, since like the San Jose series in 2017 and that was a series where Talbot was very good.

Maybe that good fortune will repeat and they'll get a smooth sailing and a steady helping of the Silvos, Talbot (decent goalie, but face it McDavid/Draisaitl have scored on him a million times in practice and know all his weak points), and Oetteniger in a down season but if it doesn't, then Skinner better nut up and elevate his game.

We can win with him if we dominate the other team and leave no room for error. If it's a relatively even played series, we will lose. That is a huge ask for 4 straight series against good teams.

again, doesn't make sense....Dallas played really well in Games 5 and especially Game 6 and we won those games because of goaltending...Game 4 against LA was solely because Skinner was great
he stunk against the Nucks in Games 1-3 but recovered in games 6 and 7

we proved last year we can come within an eyelash of winning it all with this tandem, but apparently that wont happen again because "reasons"

I'm pretty sure CantHaveTkachev is employed by Dustin Schwartz's PR team. I bet he's on the Penguins board defending Jarry too.
you haven't given me a reason why Skinner can't win the "big games" yet

John Klingberg is the answer though…

Do you think Florida, or Vegas, or Colorado's management if they were given McDavid and Draisaitl would have Stuart Skinner as their starter in a make or break Cup window? Would any serious franchise do that?

The Oilers front office is the equivalent of that kid who somehow has fanagled his way to 12th grade while reading barely at a 3rd grade level and is now hoping he can eek out some Final exams good enough to graduate by the skin of his teeth instead of just sitting down and learning how to read properly.

you quoting ".901" while not giving me one solid reasoning as to why we can't win this him lol
just say you didn't watch the playoffs last year

Vegas won a Cup with their 3rd stringer
Colorado won a Cup with Darcy f***ing Kuemper sporting a .902 save % in the playoffs
