I think Briere was more making the point that as a rebuilding team, they'd listen to offers for anyone.
Obviously, the younger the player, the less willing he'd be to trade that player.
But "make me an offer I can't refuse . . . "
Thanks for your answer, dead. I understand the general point and expressed my appreciation that Briere took just the right position to this question. But my subsequent post was that he commented on a player over whom a shadow is looming, and whether his response gave any indication to Hart's unique situation.

Laughton’s trade value will never be higher has been said before, but this time it might be true. I think Hayes and Provorov are the priority, though.

Scott Laughton… what a guy, what a teammate, what a member of our community. Just all around awesome dude. But yeah, he should be traded if they can get a 1st lol

Gives support to his amateur/pro scouts. Again.

A familiar theme from what we have heard, outlines St Louis as a team that didn’t have a lot of high end talent - but bought into their coach…. Whatever the hell that means. Thinks that “team concept” is what they will try to do moving forward.

Talks about how the identity of the team needs to be maintained even if the game has changed…. This perversion is so entrenched in this team it’s laughable. It corrupts all their thinking.

He’s the same old bullshit we have seen for years. Shocking.

The changes in the FO are all basically promotions. No removal of scouts, or the developmental staff. He’s a moron that played nicely with Comcast/Camillo.

Nothing changes cause it's all the same.

Still convinced intangibles are everything. Skill is for the weak.

As all of us said, everything is the same. Shocking.

I’ll try and listen tomorrow, but wow! That’s literally exactly what Fletcher thought. It’s going to be at least 5 more years of the same.

Clarke is only 73. Its going to be a lot longer than 5 years.
Dean Lombardi is only 65, he could still be alive 30 years from now :laugh:

Translation: we're going to change nothing and expect different results.

Meh. Why would he throw anyone under the bus?
You can't make amateur changes until after the draft.
Come July, we'll know what he really thinks.

He just told us what he thinks. Plenty of it wasn't throwing anyone under the bus.

It isn't a surprise to most of us that the dude who management likes and agrees with, and that has been trained by this management group, is just like everyone else. This is not a franchise that can tolerate any serious dissent.

Loser teams compare themselves at the BEGINNING of their rebuild to one of the least talented flukiest teams in recent history to win the Cup. And even then the Flyers seemingly have no pathway to Pietrangelo/Tarasenko types. But they’re telling you they don’t even care about talent, not first and foremost.

They also think Berube/Tortorella are elite coaches you build around. Doomed.

I can read their minds....

Berube = Torts

Binnington = Hart

2 top of draft D in Pietrangelo and Bouwmeester = Provy and Risto!!!!

3rd round RHD with a big shot, Parayko = Attard!!!!

Edmundson = Sanheim

Dunn = York!!!!

ROR = Couts

Schenn = Frost

Tarasenko = Tippett!!!!

Schwartz = Gauthier

Bozak = N.Cates!!!!

Perron = TK/Atkinson

Marroon = Deslauriers!!!!

R.Thomas = Leonard!!!!

If they buy in to Torts and Hart goes on a heater, the cup is in their lap! Just hit on Gauthier and Leonard and it is all but complete!

It's foolproof!!!!

Excuse you, the defenceman they draft this year at 7th overall is a surefire bet to be the next Pietrangelo when you take into account this team's legendary development results over the years.

ROR = Cates, that this team thinks that much is clear.

For sure, moving him to center is the hedge against Coots not returning to 100%!

No doubt they look at ROR=Couts as the main equation here.
