Their pricing themselves out of trades and will give them extensions with some sort of babble
Do you forget Zito traded a 1st just to rent Chiarot?did chuckles get hired somewere ?
And you are crazy the other way.Do you forget Zito traded a 1st just to rent Chiarot?
That Tampa traded a 1st just to rent David Savard?
That there were multiple teams trying to trade for Risto when the Flyers got him?
That Risto has improved significantly under Torts and Shaw?
That big physical RHD are actually a rare commodity around the league and valued by contenders (Tanev)?
You're letting your personal animus against Risto cloud your judgment if you think he's going to be difficult to move.
So lets say Danny actually sells heavily...are we gonna be done with the narrative for awhile? Does this buy him any trust?
He sure does!Risto has 3 more years ?
That is 100-% unmovable
They will not need to retain 50% on Risto for 3 yrs.And you are crazy the other way.
Retaining 50% on expiring Walker is just part of doing deadline business.
Retaining 50% on Risto for 3 MORE YEARS is completely different. You can't just ignore having dead cap space for 3 more years.
In your theoretical:
they both get similar returns
Trading Walker means we add the 2nd and have Risto at 5.1
Trading Risto at 50% mean we add a 2nd, spend 5 on Walker and have 2.5 in dead cap space FOR 3 MORE YEARS.
So the difference of the 2 is now like paying Walker 7.5 for 3 years. You can't just ignore that and sweep it under the carpet. AND it ties up a retention spot for other potential deals. All this matters.
We know the Flyers are not winning anything this year. You sell Walker, Seeler and Laughton to build more of a potential pipeline when they could win. And you use the 11 million these 3 could be making next year, on something more impactful.
Did you get Evil Grittied?Seeler not playing tonight. Here we go
Did you get Evil Grittied?
Oh, so you believe a team would trade a 2nd right now for Risto for 3+years?They will not need to retain 50% on Risto for 3 yrs.
Multiple teams will easily trade a 2nd for Risto at 20-25% retained.Oh, so you believe a team would trade a 2nd right now for Risto for 3+years?
You are crazy.
And that's why he has been traded already....Multiple teams will easily trade a 2nd for Risto at 20-25% retained.
Never overestimate the intelligence of hockey gm's when it comes to physical dmen. Would I want my team to trade a 2 for Risto at 3.5? BLEEP NO! But it only takes one idiot in the gm village.Risto has 3 more years ?
That is 100-% unmovable
Really sounds like a rebuild to meKaplan's trade deadline buzz: Latest on Noah Hanifin, Jake Guentzel and the goalie market
The NHL trade deadline is one week away. Who will be the next impact player on the move? Here's what we're hearing around the league.www.espn.com
Emily Kaplan:
“Sean Walker is likely the next man up. Philadelphia Flyers GM Danny Briere told me he'd like to re-sign both Walker and his defense partner, Nick Seeler, but he didn't know if it would be possible. With little traction for new contracts, it appears they're poised to be moved -- especially Walker.”
Also mentioned steep price tag for Laughton, Flyers taking calls but not shopping him.
shhh..Risto has 3 more years ?
That is 100-% unmovable
I had to block that Twitter account a couple years ago because he got me three times in a rowApparently yes LOL
