what im saying is surely its better to do it than buy him out?
Depends. There are valid reasons for both courses. Buying him out, he's on the cap for longer, but the cap hit is less this season and it doesn't use a retention slot, meaining you could more easily facilitate a cap retention trade and pick up an asset in doing so. Trade with retention means his cap hit doesn't extend into next season, and they're getting some level of prospect back. Depends on your plans, but a buyout is probably more beneficial for the Flyers at this stage.

I've seen him at the St. Anthony's festival. He is actually a friend of my dad. Dad tried telling me stories of how they know each other but then again my dad knows everyone. Joe Biden used to take my dad for rides around in his cars when they were teenagers. He's a really nice guy, we would bump into him and he'd always call my dad by his first name and ask him about the family and such. I remember one time we ran into him at the Italian festival and he knew me and my brother play hockey and he asked if I was the goalie (that's my brother).

He's a really nice guy and many of the nice/lighthearted media interactions capture how he is in real life. He's funny, comes off as someones grandpop.

He was also good friends with Joes sister Valerie who ran his campaigns for him. I remember we were out at a seafood restaurant in Wilmington and Valarie was there with friends/family as well and she got up and came over to say hi to us.

There was also the time that Joe name dropped my Dad during one of the vice presidential debates and told a story about how he ran into a firefighter joey danko at the gas station in wilmington and asked my dad how much it cost to fill his tank and my dad said "i don't know joe, i can't afford to fill it"

2008 Vice Presidential Candidates Debate (10:09)

The next morning Radio Stations/News Stations called and harassed us all day, and made my dad somewhat of a local celebrity for a few days...Curtis Sliwa who is a giant piece of shit called my dad harassing him live on air unexpectedly at 6 in the morning waking my dad from his sleep after doing a 24 hour shift at the firehouse.

They also made a skit on a VH1 show where a comedian pretended to be "Joey Danko from Delaware"

Jill used to teach at my high school. I didn't have a class with her, but my older brother did.

I've met Joe numerous times. Hell, in Delaware, that's no big feat. One of the first times was in the mid-late 1980s. I was working at a health insurance company and Joe rolled in while we were having a Halloween Day. I think I was wearing a rubber devil mask when I shook his hand. Went on to work the phone banks for him on Election Day to get people out to vote. The thing that surprised me was the fact we were from different parties, but he wasn't as concerned with people voting Democrat or even for him, but that they got out to vote at all.

Delaware - at least back then - was not much concerned with polemics. Everyone tended towards a centrist political philosophy, regardless of party.

Never forget he drunk drove and found out

If that's the standard, then I have a feeling LeClair wouldn't be suited to work there either.

Disclaimer: I dunno if he's ever been a drunk driver, but my daddy-o bounced at a popular Philly club in the 90s and he said Johnny Vermont sure could throw them back...

He's been arrested for it at least twice in Vermont.

His service is done? He has a signed contract?
Lets go kidnap him outside of his training facility.

and take Michkov too while at it.

They can keep Zavragin, for now. We are kind of overloaded in nets.

Isnt Jill Biden a Flyer fan?
Jill is, Joe is a chocolate chip ice cream fan. Graeter’s in particular. Come to think of it, that might get it done, quid pro quo chocolate chip ice cream for a little pressure on the Russians.

Meltzer confirms that York had a bad camp... in that he got on the bad side of Torts.

Last year, York came to camp with a job to lose, got on Torts' bad side, and lost it. (But to his credit, bounced right back and had a good year).
I stand by it. Torts decided very quickly that York was too laid back and casual and was in his face to try to get a rise out of him. Torts, who enjoys confrontation, tried a few times to pick a verbal fight with York, but found him impossible to goad. He came to accept that York does have an inner drive and then they were fine.

Different individuals are motivated in different ways. Im sure there are some that respond well to Torts psychotic approach...but thats probably the minority. Thr fact that that the only method he uses says a lot.

I also cant emphasize enough how much i absolutley HATE the whole "had a good/bad training camp". 3 weeks of practices in september should have no determination of who is on thr team. Tgis organization obsesses over it.
